roger Posted October 17, 2016 (edited) What you give, you receive. Â This is utilitarian, not retributivist, justice. It's what works, not punishment. Â An incredible thing is, this justice can only be really and truly taken comfort in lovingly, but not unlovingly. Â You can't hatefully enjoy justice- you won't feel better, you'll get no significant relief. Â "You're gonna pay for it! It'll come back to you!" This kind of attitude doesn't give one real satisfaction. Â "Well, you were wrong, and you have to deal with the consequences of your cruelty, but I love you and I wish you well." In this case, justice can comfort a person. Edited October 17, 2016 by roger
Karl Posted October 17, 2016 Judge and be judged. This would be the elements of giving and receiving. Judging is a love of ones own values which includes a love of the freedom to judge and hence a love of that same freedom by which others will judge us.
