windwalker Posted March 30, 2017 (edited) No Obama was not a good president I think historically it will be shown to have been a very bad presidency for the US for all the reasons noted in the OP post. I do not agree that “Trump” would have not been elected at some point in time, nor do I feel it would be so sure that Obama would have won if he could have ran again and ran against Trump … Luckily for the US this was not possible. What “Trump” is doing indirectly is bringing the US back in line with its constitutional underpinnings. Something that when examined Obama, knew quite well, and understood that what he was doing and did would change “destroy” this. His legacy is very easily being undone because he circumvented the process. What is damning, is his attempt to preserve his legacy in the last weeks of his time in office by enacting measures that would prevent this or at worst damage the incoming administration. ""By any means necessary" "I was not the one to invent lies: they were created in a society divided by class and each of us inherited lies when we were born. It is not by refusing to lie that we will abolish lies: it is by eradicating class by any means necessary. — Jean-Paul Sartre" oddly enough "Trump" is the one having to show the "lie" in doing so he can not use "any means necessary" working with in the process it would seem many have forgotten or no longer understand. Anybody else but “Trump” probably would not have survived this, which is why “Trump” as a 3rd party candidate is good for the US at this time highlighting how far the US as strayed away from its ideology underpinnings. windwalker Posted April 1, 2017 (edited) The most one can say about Obama, was that he was very consistent. Hopefully some of his "hope and change" can be undone... Edited April 1, 2017 by windwalker

Obama's spying was on a larger scale, say... 1,000,000,000:1 just to throw out some numbers. Shhh, no one wants to talk about that...

In addition to being largely expanded, the government's own investigation revealed that a substantial percentage of the domestic surveillance under the Obama Administration wasn't even within the "spying rules" -- just blatantly illegal in a "whatchu gonna do about it?" kinda way. This is pretty bold and unprecedented.

This is pretty bold and unprecedented. It is bold and may very well be unprecedented, as far we know, therefore, rule of law should apply for violations of the 4th amendment and the guidelines that Obama himself put in place regarding NSA. My question is, if he would violate his oath of office to that extent, what else did he do that has yet to be revealed? I wonder what a prison term would be like for a former US president? Not that I believe it will ever go that far, some little guy will end up taking the fall.

No way to buy a house, no way to keep what you earn, 0 deductibles, crazy healthcare costs, failing infrastructure, overpopulation ( schools are getting 1 out of 10, 3 out of 10 marks). Nothing was done to make things better. Useless wars. Useless help to corporations who hated him ( openly republican if you look at the data). NSA and spying stuff. I remember how exciting it was in 2008 when he won. I remember thinking WTF more and more... p.s. I have no hopes for Trump ( even if he starts WW3, isn's End of The World is kind of predicted anyway...) It is easier that way to have no hope that there would be sane president who actually cares about the country and its people... oh... wait... do I sound like quoting Tao Te Ching now...
