Shad282 Posted December 6, 2016 Was wondering, How far can we really go with meditation, qigong...etc of practices? would we be able to teleport and move through space and time? would we be able to create Qi energy weapons, real physical energy shields? telepathy? get out of body anytime we want to move inside the reality realm? Ability to freeze time? since it is an illusion?
C T Posted December 6, 2016 Maybe not the ability to freeze time, but one that can transform the mind to recognise limits and therefore gradually let go of conceptual frameworks around time. Western minds are too absorbed with abilities, which implies effort, which promotes clinging. A super power can only be truly super if its effortless. And it can only be effortless if the whole being, all at once, is in a 'letting go/letting be' mode. Otherwise there will always be inner conflict where effort and ability is given priority.
thelerner Posted December 6, 2016 hmmn, I recall a guy who could do that. Went to Tibet, learned from the Ancient one, could pretty much do it all, teleport, astral travel, spells, shields, create illusions. Course he had a big budget and special effects team behind him. I think (many) Siddhi's are real but rare and less flashy and dependable then one might hope for. In some ways modern tech has given us great power and no responsibility. Thus phones work better then telepathy and cars and planes better then teleportation. I also assume with deep learning and cultivation, comes detachment. A certain craving for quiet and low drama. With great attainment, one is more likely to live cloistered in a monastery or humbly as a hermit then be on youtube. writing books doing seminars and showing off powers.

C T Posted December 6, 2016 yes, true, letting go and letting be, but sometimes it requires to go and to be. letting go & letting be as an attitude, a frame of mind, a basic intent. Hope you see the difference between this and the apparent frivolity of always wanting to go somewhere, to be something or someone other than.
Everything Posted December 6, 2016 (edited) yes, true, letting go and letting be, but sometimes it requires to go and to be. If you let go and let be, you also let be what needs to go and be. That's it... I found the answer to the universe. Edited December 6, 2016 by Everything

Everything Posted December 6, 2016 (edited) But isn't it too passive mindset and attitude to approach life? Resisting inspired action is not an act of non-action. To allow inspired action is to let it be. In better words, practice the art of allowing. If there is pain, let it go. If it feels good, practice allowing. If you resist inspired action the result will be HHHNNNGGGG!!! Edited December 6, 2016 by Everything
SeekerOfHealing Posted December 7, 2016 There is secret to "super powers" energy is only one ingredient you need also second one which manifest in physical results as it's follow the nature. Energy is manifesting as our physical world too but it's need to have a bridge, regular people have energy but do not have a bridge.
Papayapple Posted December 7, 2016 With time I tend to think more and more of peaceful and smart living as the real superpowers, and fantastic skills as an addiction to power. And once you get them, are they 'super' anymore?

MooNiNite Posted December 9, 2016 The governments of CHina and the USA heavily research psychic abilities. Apparently people can make physical objects teleport.
vonkrankenhaus Posted December 9, 2016 Human beings have been diminished for thousands of years by being artificially grown as workers in various "civilizations". This has progressed to today. Such that normal human functionality can look like "superpowers". And that is the way it is likely to appear going forward. Unless people can recover normal human living. And human judgement and discernment ability. From the midst of diminishment and artificiality. It is the biggest challenge mankind has ever faced. And is going on right now, everywhere on Earth. -VonKrankenhaus

MooNiNite Posted December 11, 2016 There are also people that dont mind working 8 hours a day. They have a house and great jobs, and children. They love eachother and are very happy going to work and going home.

Aeran Posted December 14, 2016 There are also people that dont mind working 8 hours a day. They have a house and great jobs, and children. They love eachother and are very happy going to work and going home. But how many of these people are there, relative to those who are doing jobs they don't like just to survive and spending the rest of their time dulling their dissatisfaction with assorted distractions (TV, games, internet, porn, sex, booze, drugs, etc)? Does our society emphasize happiness, meaning and the ability to fully express yourself as an individual as much as it could/should, relative to other values? Maybe it's just me and the people I surrounded myself with for much of my life, but it seems like the ones who are genuinely content and living out the life they want are in a small minority, and have to put great effort into going against the flow of mainstream society to attain that lifestyle. By contrast, society seems to much more strongly encourage the kind of mindless "make work" and equally mindless "comfort consumerism," and as a result people seem to easily fall into that pattern unless they're some combination of very determined and very lucky.

There are people very happy with being drug or alcohol addicts. There are people who don't mind murdering others. P.T.
