Of course Chinese believe the fake dao. Chang bou duan told you that long long time ago.

Arkady Shadursky Posted December 11, 2016 Ugh, i am just messing with you, kinda gets boring too. So what this passage say in one sentence? Ok, why to talk with this person any more? It seems like he doesn't want to study Taoism or to find out about studying with or without the Teacher. If you want me to answer your questions, You must be my student first. But what about "sharing for free" and "I'm not taking money for that"? --- Arkady

Arkady Shadursky Posted December 11, 2016 (edited) See? They want your knowledge for free Awaken 1. Actually its awaken, who said that she is not taking the money for that 2. I'm not talking about the Knowledge. I'm talking about simplest question A.A.Khokhlov asked her. That's it. 3 reasons: marketing, propaganda, hate. So, you really don't want to find out about is the Teacher needed or not??? What a shame pity. --- Arkady Edited December 11, 2016 by Arkady Shadursky

Arkady Shadursky Posted December 11, 2016 (edited) I have found it long time ago, thank you very much. And what about Patriarchs words from Daozang? They looks quite convincing, do you agree with them? --- Arkady Edited December 11, 2016 by Arkady Shadursky
Taoist Texts Posted December 11, 2016 And what about Patriarchs words from Daozang? They looks quite convincing, do you agree with them? Things are not what they look like. It depends. Provide a quote we will see;)
Arkady Shadursky Posted December 11, 2016 What about quotes already provided by A.A. Khokhlov and by you?You are quoting Baopuzi and there is clear pointing on that Teacher is needed: Patriarch Ge Hong, Baopuzi: ... Since these instructions point to the depths and lead far away, so even if to write them down, yet a person who haven't recieved them from his Teacher would understand nothing from them: he looks up - and wouldn't see head, he looks down - wouldn't see feet. So that means you agree with that Teacher is needed.---Arkady
Taoist Texts Posted December 11, 2016 So that means you agree with that Teacher is needed. --- Arkady No but i agree that you have no clue what Ge is really saying in that passage.

SeekerOfHealing Posted December 11, 2016 It's british term of "Taking the piss is a Commonwealth term meaning to take liberties at the expense of others, or to be unreasonable. It is often used to mean (or confused with) taking the piss out of, which is an expression meaning to mock, tease, ridicule, or scoff."
Taoist Texts Posted December 11, 2016 Yes thank you. It is fit for a chav, but it is unladylike and disgusting. Also https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coprolalia is a serious psychotic disorder.
Taoist Texts Posted December 11, 2016 I don't know Chinese but the translations seem to be quite clear. I have read some of them in Russian before, the sense was the same. And yet they are completely wrong and misleading. Trust me.
damdao Posted December 11, 2016 Basically you say that your source 1. Does NOT say that Liu had any children. 2. Does NOT say that he transmitted to a son. Your source is one more evidence that the genealogy is false then. Of course it does not say that, but it is very diferent from the baidu link you provided, with poor information and misleading. By the way, have you ever read about Huato's children?

Taoist Texts Posted December 12, 2016 (edited) I've read some of these texts previousely in professor Evgeniy Torchinov's translation. He was a Phd in Chinese Pilosophy. And what I see - the translation provided by A.A.Khokhlov is pretty much the same and looking quite logical. Three amateurs in 3 centences Teachers and disciples has always been a standard for Chinese taoism, haven't it? I do not know what do you mean and neither do you. FondOfDao Posted December 12, 2016 I'm not sure I got you well. Did you name PhD Evegniy Torchinov an amateur in Chinese? With all his works on ancient Chinese being accepted and approved by scientific community? In this case I can see no way for you to be right in translations anymore. awaken Posted December 12, 2016 (edited) See? They want your knowledge for free AwakenI saw that. Greedy. No manners. A real cultivator need some good quality in personality. I will not accept the kind of students or friends. Everyone like good people. Me too. If someone is too rude to let me remember him or her, I will ignore him or her. I do not want to talk to the people who is not friendly. It is a very easy to understand to everyone. I do not know why someone just do not understand. Maybe because they have a "true" teacher. So now, " true" teachers have different meanings. It is strange. Edited December 12, 2016 by awaken
FondOfDao Posted December 12, 2016 Man, aren't you aware of Orientalism science? Evgeniy Torchinov was a PhD in Orientalism (specifically in Taoism) and a greatest Russian specialist in ancient Chinese. His researches are also well known in China, he has been several times invited to participate taoist conferences in China. Do you have orientalist education at least to judge?
