Aletheia Posted May 2, 2017 It is probably worth asking whether the meditator is blessing his or her food prior to eating it. How do you do that and what's the benefit? Anyway, the other day when I was getting upset I was simultaneously arguing with some other guy elsewhere on the internet who was trying to fit what I was saying about war/shopping/paedophilia/transsexuals etc into his narrow leftist political paradigm. So I was pretty much telling him where to go with that. Then i said I was going to go to the countryside and mediate that's all I said but it's because I want to sit in the pine forest and do some mediating/fasting to see how that goes with developing my 3rd eye. So that fruitcake is now saying he thinks that will be a good idea for my "emotional wellbeing." That guy is really tripping hard and really irritating me at the same time. I'm not allowed to talk about alchemy because of leftist pomo political ideology, which secretly has capitalist investments lol. Well, now I've got a cold and a bit of a sore throat and I haven't meditated properly in about a week although I do breathe into the dan tian and feel it, just not for any extended time recently. Anyway, I just ate two bananas and some walnuts about 15 minutes ago. So when do you think I should mediate because I'm going to get back into it before I really screw up big time and also not get involved with other people's problems on the internet! silent thunder Posted May 2, 2017 my favored form of meditation when I'm sick is sleep good solid, sweat inducing sleep with many blankets and then wake up and drink lots of broth loaded with garlic, tumeric and cayenne maybe a snort or two of brandy and then back to more coccoon blanket sleep meditation
[email protected] Posted May 2, 2017 Generally after I eat my DT gets warm and it seems to me that would be a good time to meditate, but I remember reading that it shouldn't be done but I can't remember the reason why. What's the reason? This is probably not the DT I guess, but the stomach and bowel fire. If you feel the heat in this area after eating it means that you have a good digestive system. Taking this into account, its better to give your body finish digestive process first and then do your practice. Rgrds, Ilya
Wu Ming Jen Posted May 2, 2017 Because Taoist meditation is based on energy arts when we eat we are using energy to digest food. Allow the system to properly digest and transform liquids and solids into fuel more powerful than any fuel known to man for machines. Once this process is finished about 20 min. the energy in meditation we are transforming is more effective and not weakened or diverted to other processes required by the body. Mental activity in meditation also diverts energy. Digestion begins in the mouth, saliva breaking down the food before ingesting then we get the most bang for our buck Sitting meditation is not physical demanding to be most effective this form should be paired with hard work. Physical routines done on a full belly will cause discomfort.

It is essentially a healing for your food. Set intent and manifest. You can project healing energy to food like you might to people, animals, plants, etc.
