With a specific need it can be faster, sure. When I need sour chocolate milk for my kick-ass mocha cake recipe - I'll sniff the oldest choc milk carton and if it meets my needs, yay! No reason to check all the other cartons for flavor or freshness. (-:

I got lost during the conversation but that's okay, it happens to me a lot.

I think we are here...

MS

"We moderns don't like that kind of ambivalence. We want to know if this is 'a good guy' or 'a bad guy' we are dealing with. But Laotzu outrageously defies that kind of classification. And so does Daoism..."

My point is that Lao et al , do not appear to feel we require much of  the baggage of socialization , in order to arrive at good decisions.

The opposition appears to feel , that we do , and it serves to improve our lives by not having to start from scratch, each time we address an unknown.

They may correct me if they feel I am not getting it right. No error is intended.

Okay.

The less baggage we have the easier it is to travel.  But then, when we do travel with little or no baggage we must do with what is available wherever we go.

I think it is good if we have a good set of values whether we remain home or travel.  Good values will always point us in the best direction.

Yes it was aimed at you and Dawei ,

I maybe just view it more like a buffet...  Why should I question the inclusion of something I'll never eat but not question the inclusion of things I want to eat.   Seems in both cases (ie: Forum or buffet), folks go there for some specific things but rarely eat every single dish being offered.

I find I'm eating less and less here but I don't question why all the other areas are less value for others.

The issue isn't whether there is a problem with having choices or not. The thing I was and am working with is whether the pre-judgement of socialization ( which includes political dogma and divisions by gender ) , is preferable to men and women discussing topics on equal footing without focus on gender association. OR if its good to have partisan ideas not open to 'gray' comprehension. Essentially you are defending something which is 'beside the point' from what I am discussing. :)

And so what do you do,  if you see that your values are baggage?

If I can get ahold of the little pesky fuckers I throw them in the trash can after I have killed them.

'Whore frost' is defined by the 'Urban Dictionary' as:

"The inability to get laid even if you pay for it."

Sorry, what has that got to do with your American tourister?

Dolly didn't even have any boobs yet when Kitty was crowned First Lady.

Neither had Dolly Buster, since my research indicated that you're talking about Kitty Wells, born 1919. Sorry, she was long before my time.

Would you consider 'Country Road' a song about the Dao?

Yeah, most people forget about Kitty.  Prior to her it was rare to see or even hear a female Country artist.  It was she who opened to door for the other female artists in Country music.  (Rose Mattox might be an exception.)  The two ladies who followed Kitty were Dottie West and Patsy Cline.

"Country Roads" is an interesting song.  Primarily about wanting to return to the mountains of West Virginia.  But equally about wanting to follow one's heart so I would have to say to your question:  Yes, it is about the Way of Dao as expressed in the heart of man.
