No One Posted May 2, 2017 Hi, Content to be registered. Pleased to be beginning use of the forum. I'm not going to write a bio, not even a short one, no. But I suppose I can share a bit about myself. Just a tiny little bit. I'm a white dude. Mahayana Buddhist. Lover of the Dao. Stubborn learner and dull in the world. A plain one.

We look forward to accompanying you on some of the way that you still have to go. For the first week you will be restricted to ten posts per day but after that you can post as much as you like. Also, until you’ve posted fifteen times in the forums, you’ll be a “Junior Bum” with somewhat restricted access and will be allowed only two private messages per day. Good luck in your pursuits and best wishes to you, Marblehead and the TDB team Hi No One, A stubborn Buddhist. Nothing new there. You are welcome to jump right in ongoing discussions, revive an older thread, start a new thread of your own, or start a discussion in the "Newcomer Corner" sub-forms to expand on your introduction or ask general questions to help you get started. May you enjoy your time here. Marblehead
Stosh Posted May 3, 2017 Thank you kindly sir! You could have added that youre smart for not writing a long biography at the onset, which would heavily dominate the airspace , rather than draw in conversation.
Limahong Posted May 4, 2017 Brevity the soul of wit or nitwit (asked very innocently and courteously)?
Stosh Posted May 4, 2017 Brevity the soul of wit or nitwit (asked very innocently and courteously)? I'm thinking they converge.

liminal_luke Posted May 5, 2017 (edited) No One calls himself dull and the rest of us benevolent. Luke raises a jaded eyebrow. No introduction and already two dubiously droll assertions. Should be interesting. Edited May 5, 2017 by liminal_luke
Limahong Posted May 5, 2017 Wit = witless, wittiness = blandness, funny = boring, intelligence = stupidity, humour = dourness, smart = foolish, pointed = pointless, mindful = mindless, sharp = clueless …? I just arrived at Thesaurus. Will spend the weekend here. Weather? Some rain expected, temperature – good for love. YIN = YANG - LimA
Stosh Posted May 5, 2017 (edited) You said it yourself at the start , nothing to see in a thesaurus "Brevity the soul of wit , or nitwit ?" And the subject was? Brevity in speech, And the similarity between those who do or do not search long and hard for wisdom? They both consider it that their understanding is based on subjective opinions , which makes explanation untenable or fruitless. So can can one see a difference in the brevity of speech of the wise and plain? No, its just brevity of speech ,, which is functionally the same. Could either party be verbose ? sure, but , could someone consider it smart to be brief ? yes. When? When the point is to draw in conversation. Limahong Posted May 5, 2017 Nothing is permanent. Marblehead says - "I reserve the right to change my mind". I say - I preserve that right. - LimA
silent thunder Posted May 5, 2017 I changed my mind twice just while reading that... and I heartily second the notion,
Stosh Posted May 5, 2017 I don't know what that means, but like footprints upon the shore , the wave tosses up, and the prints are no more. The world is in still in balance
Limahong Posted May 5, 2017 Hi Stosh, The footprints are still with you. And life is still beautiful. Why? The footprints are captured as good memories on your mind. Bad memories were washed away by the waves. Nature has provided us with the waves for mental cleansing, and yet we miss them as such. (Sub - please go to the seaside and let the waves caress your mind). Stosh - thank you for tossing up the waves in my mind, just woke up. - LimA
Limahong Posted May 7, 2017 Hi Silent Thunder, Apparently you are paradoxical. Are you preceded by invisible lightning? Taoist Bummies are a weird bunch - they can get on sane peoples' bloody nerves. I find your myriad interests most interesting - rain, sacred geometry, lucid dreaming ... Rain - as in water droplets from the sky? If yes, why? Sacred geometry - how many dimensions? Lucid dreaming - appears to be crude. - LimA
sagebrush Posted May 7, 2017 (edited) a few lucid dreams in a lifetime should not be such a Bother..... Edited May 7, 2017 by sagebrush
Limahong Posted May 7, 2017 Hi Sagebrush, In my waking hours, I am far from lucid. So how to have lucid dreams? You had? Please share. Thank you. Mostly we cannot control our dreams. Chances they are incoherent, confusing, delirious, dull … (I am still visiting Thesaurus). And some dreams can, naturally and deliciously, be wet. - LimA
Marblehead Posted May 7, 2017 Mostly we cannot control our dreams. While this is true, we can attain a state such that we no longer dream. Chuang Tzu spoke to this.
Limahong Posted May 10, 2017 Guys, It is about time that we draw No One into conversation. I am sure No One is Someone with plenty to say; otherwise he would not have started the topic. His silence is deafening. So No One - for everyone, please oblige. Thank you. - LimA
