Ella1995 Posted May 28, 2017 Hello, I am English major in undergraduate school. My name is Ella. I read the Tao Te Ching and it really resonated with me. I felt like I finally found a philosophy that I completely agreed with and I could understand all of the principles. I am new to Daoism but consider myself a philosophical Taoist. I find it difficult to actually follow the ideas sometimes though, although I try. My family is Christian and so I haven't really met any Taoists. It's quite new to me but I'd like to learn more about it! What kind of practices do you have? Do you pray? Do you believe in a Higher Power? Thanks! How is everyone?

Please take the time to read the post pinned at the top of this Welcome page and take a look at the forum terms and rules. This covers all you need to know when getting started. For the first week you will be restricted to ten posts per day but after that you can post as much as you like. Good luck in your pursuits and best wishes to you, Marblehead and the TDB team Hi Ella, Philosophical Taoism works well with almost any religion. I don't pray - I'm not religious. You are welcome to jump right in ongoing discussions, revive an older thread, start a new thread of your own, or start a discussion in the "Newcomer Corner" sub-forms to expand on your introduction or ask general questions to help you get started.
