roger Posted June 7, 2017 What not to do: try very hard to change, grow, and become more perfect. What to do: know that you're already perfect, accept yourself as you are, and just enjoy your life. Change and growth happen naturally when you take that approach.
Marblehead Posted June 7, 2017 Yeah, but we still have to clip our finger and toe nails occasionally.

Stosh Posted June 7, 2017 The lessons people garner by 'accident' aren't always for the better , some folks get old and grouchy , others simply sink into routines ever more deeply, which , if examined , might be worthy of a re-write. ... like , is the symbol on the thank you button the same thing written twice? ( which might mean in Chinese - I assume- that you ARE a 'thank' , or a - You Youing ? )

Michael Sternbach Posted June 7, 2017 (edited) More precisely, it's xiè x xiè, or Thanks squared. (I think.) Edited June 7, 2017 by Michael Sternbach
Marblehead Posted June 7, 2017 That might be almost as difficult as squaring a circle.
dawei Posted June 7, 2017 duo xie is many thanks. often a doubling of words means something more: Tian is day; Tian Tian is every day... just not here with Xie Xie. This seems to be an aspect of seeking... you can seek change, growth, and perfection but it doesn't mean it will come. But this is a curious path of what is sought vs what is gained.... what is seeked vs what is acquired. That interplay is our path we see before us. The outcome of that path is sometimes not what was sought and not what is ultimately thought to be acquired. IMO, the important part is: Be open that what you seek is not what you get, but what you get is what you need. What you acquired is not what you thought but what you are.
