Starting fire, lightning led lights, none of that has anything at all to do with the ultimate purpose of the system.

could you please tell us then what the ultimate purpose  of the system is then?

It's not a conversation that can be safely had here in this environment.

See in the earlier posted quotes.

Level 72, Bodhidharma and Chang San Feng.  So some kind of spiritual goal, be it a daoist immortal or a bodhistattva/buddha.

And if that fails,  a lesser spiritual achievement.

Actually,  there were some bad jokes about that in one of the previous Mo Pai threads.

Those words are so sterile and empty of meaning, much like the word "enlightenment".   Ask 100 people what enlightenment is and you'll get 100 answers, essentially it can mean anything and in doing so means nothing.

MoPai is much more specific in what is being done, and why it is being done.  The problem is most people I meet that call themselves "spiritual" whatever that means, find the purpose of MoPai repugnant and inherently anti-spiritual.

Your description is as good as can be had without starting a flame war.

so you come to the Daobums with the idea to find here new people to do Mopai.

but you won't tell what the very basic training is, like the what and how of sitting.

you don't tell what the shortterm effects of your practice will be.

and then

The goal of this mysterious practice cannot be talked about either. But you say that most people that call themselves spiritual find the purpose of Mopai repugnant and inherently anti spiritual...

at the same time you seem to have  contempt for people following other and often very different paths, People who come together here, in this space created by Sean to share what we find walking our paths.

In the few years I've been reading here I can see that there are some very wise and developed persons on this site. Some of them following old traditions under very esteemed teachers.

Persons you seem to think less worthy then you yourself.

and then you are surprised that people make fun of you.

You may be seeing just that what you radiate.

That is not the problem.

The problem is that according to quotes posted earlier, you sort of needs the mandate of Heaven, that is, be destined, to go beyond level whatever (3,4?). And then there is a book available, written in archaic chinese, that tells you how to progress in the system.

Do you have access?

Or can you bypass this with the information you have?

If so,  all the better!

MorePieGuy made the goal very clear before he chose to leave this forum.

Life is so incredibly horrible that a person's only focus in life should be breaking the cycle and ensuring he or she will not return.  The best way (only way? only way with objective evidence?) is MoPai.  The fact that only the first two steps are available is not a hindrance, nor is the necessity of 10-hour sessions (MPG said he didn't (doesn't?) actually practice because he didn't (doesn't?) have time and is preparing to do all him practicing after he retires (or something) because a miracle may occur -- if someone diligently practices (or diligently plans on practicing in the future, I guess?), something will change such that the higher-level trainings will become available to that individual.  It is better to practice the introduction to MoPai (or to plan on practicing the introduction, I guess?) than to practice other systems because MoPai has video evidence (recorded in the presence of scientists and medical doctors to prevent fraud) that John Chang can (could?) light fires and illuminate LED lights and do other interesting stuff and this clearly demonstrates that MoPai leads to immortality or the end of the cycle of reincarnation (or something...)

Pretty awesome, isn't it?

Best wishes!

That's the way it was explained to the forum back before we only got these "Secret Squirrel" enlistment campaigns.

And don't call me Shirley...

It's funny you mention that but I have talked to other people like us, that were able to read Kosta's books and were able to "get it",  to understand the point of the system, already understood what they were supposed to be doing in meditation, and were really only lacking a few minor details.   There was no fighting, no arguing, not fit pitching, no screaming, none of that.

Like I said people who just accept things because other people say so, share a very different mindset.  I am not saying that we are better and they are worse just that there is a major chasm in how we perceive reality.   In my experience people who think like we do have no trouble whatsoever grasping these things, and people who don't have to put up a fight to defend why that can't be so.

We have as much as Jim and Kosta were given, and no more.

The only other option besides continuing with what we have, would be to just give up and do nothing and wait until a system with at least as much objective evidence, and at least as advanced as MoPai can be found and all levels for that system obtained.

We all believe that going as far as we can with what we have been given, will put in in a better position to make further progress.

I think you are misrepresenting us Brian.

All of us meditate, that doesn't mean what we are doing is as productive as it could be.

We need months, maybe years in isolation to make it really count, and most of us will use our vacation time to do that each year.

Two weeks a year, maybe three is still just a drop in the bucket.   A few hours here and there on the weekends, just a few more.

I am not going to argue or try and elucidate why 1000 hours of meditation spread out over 30 minute sessions is not the same quality as 100 days at 10 hours per day.

Unfortunately none of us are financially at a point where we can sit around all day and focus on training, so we do the best we can.

That doesn't mean we all haven't experienced the same types of things.

We chose MoPai because there is objective evidence, and scientists and medical doctors present to rule out fraud.

We practice something we can verify in this manner as the only other alternative to us is doing nothing at all.

That seems stupid to you, so we can agree to disagree.

We are freethinkers, we base our beliefs on the best available objective evidence available to us, we require there to be scientists and medical doctors present in that evidence to rule out fraud, and we also base our beliefs on our own first hand observations.

If we are a cult, it is a cult of reason, a cult of rationality.

No one accepts anything on faith, and no one drinks the kool-aid.

From our perspective it's about as anti-cult as it gets.

If you feel differently let's agree to disagree.

Well that's putting it nicely, you don't really want to see the worlds I would use, they could ban me for it

What, you want me to get banned?  Or are you a masochist?  Wait, that's it ... masochism, that explains everything, about why you are here, about why you pursue the art of losers, everything.

So we are masochists, losers, and are dumb, or dumbed down?  Do I understand you correctly?

We find objective evidence with scientists and medical doctors present to rule out fraud to be a superior alternative to personal testimony, and faith.

If you disagree, we can agree to disagree.
