mat black Posted January 2, 2008 (edited) I knpw this is a taoist site, but like cat said on another thread, tao is not an 'ism'. Only human minds create isms. The essence of the tao (the way) is undiscriminating virtue, very similar to what Buddha taught. The parallels are really easy to make. ..............so here's a metta chant. http://www.buddhanet.net/filelib/mp3/metta.mp3 Metta is a Pali word meaning loving-kindness. Metta chanting is the radiation of loving-kindness towards all beings: May they all be happy and peaceful. Imee Ooi chants the Pali beautifully. Metta chanting is soothing, uplifting, joyful and a great healing for the world - pervading it with waves of love. Truly, may all beings be happy. May they live always in peace and harmony.
