Stonehouse Posted July 25, 2017 Hello there friends, I'm coming to the Tao as a student in the Soto Zen School, Shunryu Suzuki Lineage. I recently returned from a residential retreat centered on the theme of the Taoist hermits and their writings, in the context of the writings of Chan Master Shitou Xiqian. I really enjoyed the retreat and I left wanting to know more about the Tao Te Ching, the Zhuangzi and onwards. I look forward to learning from you all!
Marblehead Posted July 25, 2017 Hello Stonehouse, and welcome. Your membership is approved and we're happy you found your way to us. We look forward to accompanying you on some of the way that you still have to go. Please take the time to read the post pinned at the top of this Welcome page and take a look at the forum terms and rules. This covers all you need to know when getting started. For the first week you will be restricted to ten posts per day but after that you can post as much as you like. Also, until you’ve posted fifteen times in the forums, you’ll be a “Junior Bum” with somewhat restricted access and will be allowed only two private messages per day. Good luck in your pursuits and best wishes to you, Marblehead and the TDB team Hi Stone, It shouldn't be difficult for you to get comfortable here. We have had and are currently having studies of both the TTC and The Chuang Tzu. You are welcome to jump right in ongoing discussions, revive an older thread, start a new thread of your own, or start a discussion in the "Newcomer Corner" sub-forms to expand on your introduction or ask general questions to help you get started. May you enjoy your time here. Marblehead

It's really fantastic because each chapter takes only a few short minutes to read through, making it perfect to read while your tea steeps in the morning. In my lineage the sign of a long and healthy practice is owning an extremely delapidated copy of it. This is a fun little Lion's Roar article about someone's copy.

I don't know hardly anything about you, but I have a keen perception of these things. I'm sure your wisdom and light will be a great blessing to the people here.
