Searching for Truth

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone!

First of all, thank you for giving me the opportunity to be part of this Great Forum.

I'm sure that by sharing your knowledge and experiences, I'll be able to reach my goals more easily.

My journey began some years ago. Tired of looking for happiness in objects (which was becoming more and more unsuccessful), I decided to seek help. Knowing that the truth was in me, one day my brother introduced me to Kriya Yoga.
I practiced Kriya Yoga for several months, but as my practice increased, I began to resent my lack of flexibility from years of sedentary life. At this point, I realized that my flexibility wouldn't allow me to evolve. I searched for new stretches, new asanas but the discomfort I felt as the practices were increasing, it was also bigger. I couldn't accept that my body would not be responsible for my failure. Sahaja Samadhi is my highest goal. For this reason, I searched for alternatives and I found some books about Self Enquiry and Advaita.

Since then, I have been reading books about Sri Ramana Maharshi's talks and Nisargadatta's talks.

They are helping me a lot.

Drop the ego-mind is my goal.

Drop the Duality is my goal.

Drop the Illusion is my goal.

Manonasa is my goal.

Namaste!

"The truth was in me". Still is? Please share a little on Kriya Yoga.

No challenging asanas in your sedentary life?

I google on Sahaja Samadhi and found this from 'The Art of Living':

These meditation techniques combined with yogic practices can ensure good health and a calm mind.

* Meditation allows the conscious mind to settle deeply in the Self, giving it rest.

* When the mind settles down, it lets go of all tension, making one healthy and focused.

Your goal sure is very high.

Got this from U-tube:

Manonasa is the final end of the ego-mind. It is very rare that a human attains Manonasa.

A good reflection?

I won't. ;)

Before I start my practices, I tried some asanas to develop my flexibility. With that I could extend some time on my practices without pain. My previous jobs were seated. Long hours sitting on a chair. Driving a car. I sat all day. Of course, all of this provoked a sedentary lifestyle.

Yes! Highest goal! I really have to perceive that I'm not my ego-mind. I'm not this illusion.

And when I perceive it completely, when my ego-mind vanish,  I will understand that there is no goal to reach. I just need to be... being! ;)

Rare or not, That's the only thing to do! :D

Perhaps same path different tact are the writings of Barry Long.  He has a couple of dharma speeches on youtube and since I enjoy guided meditations, he also has one of quieting the mind and purging thoughts-

I've saved it into an mp3 and fast forwarded it, forget how far..  His other talks are well worth listening to.  Nicely direct without cultural jargon.

Good morning yyitself,

I recalled the pain I had when I started yoga and I complained to my guru.

The wise man then pointed out that the pain was not in my body but my mind.

I shut myself up and continued with the asanas; then => more difficult ones; then => no more pain.

My guru had passed on; missed him.

Thank you for your advise.

I'll follow it.

I keep doing these asanas too (daily) and I confess that I exceeded some objectives. For example, a few years ago, for me it was impossible to sit on the floor, for more than 15 minutes without getting my legs numb. It was terrible.

But with perseverance and persistence, we break these barriers.

And as you and your guru have said and actually say, pain is created by the mind.

In fact, all barriers are created by the mind.

So I will continue with my asanas taking this into account.

About your guru, all I can say is that he may have left the body but will always remain in you, in your heart. Just go there and you'll see him... being you.

Good morning yyitself,

Touching and reassuring. Thank you.

I remember my first visit with my guru. He had shown that he read my mind. So I looked at the grass and I thought, 'My god, he's going to know all the things I don't want people to know.' I was really embarrassed. Then I looked up and he was looking directly at me with unconditional love. Ram Dass

Hi Seatle 185,

Today is Lord Ganesha's birthday.

Lord Ganesha, is one of the best-known and most worshiped deities in the Hindu pantheon. His image is found throughout IndiaSri LankaThailand, and NepalHindu sects worship him regardless of affiliations.[6] Devotion to Ganesha is widely diffused and extends to Jains and Buddhists. Although he is known by many attributes, Ganesha's elephant head makes him easy to identify. Ganesha is widely revered as the remover of obstacles, the patron of arts and sciences and the deva of intellect and wisdom. As the god of beginnings, he is honoured at the start of rites and ceremonies. Ganesha is also invoked as patron of letters and learning during writing sessions. (Wikipedia)
