It's also interesting to note that this is true in a lot of Javanese and Balinese schools. They use the keris in rituals and there are a lot of them used for things like wealth, wisdom, power, invisibility, etc. 

 

Mo Pai is more influenced by Javanese practices than Taoist, honestly, and historically, they use the terms and some of the exercises, but it has picked up a lot more Javanese influence than Taoist.
