windwalker Posted November 22, 2017 (edited) Happy T-day to all a perspective on the day. Growing up in the US the story never made much sense to me maybe at the time to young to understand or it was never clear to begin with. Happy holidays to all Edited November 22, 2017 by windwalker
thelerner Posted November 23, 2017 (edited) I liked the video, but uh.. I'll side step history.. ignore it for now, because to me Thanksgiving isn't about the Pilgrims, its about thanking providence for its gifts and celebrating with friends and families, before the harsh winter sets in. I expect every culture has its Thanksgivings.. a time to celebrate and shake your fist at the coming winter, saying we will survive together. In the past there was no guarantees, maybe there still isn't. So what, lift a glass, eat and drink with friends and family, let them know what you are thankful for. Lost in Translation Posted November 23, 2017 Here, here! Raise your egg-nog and brandy, take a bite of Turkey (or tofurkey, for the vegans), and wish all your fellow bums of all nations a happy day of giving thanks! Cheers.
Stosh Posted November 24, 2017 To me , thanksgiving is the best holiday. An ol fashioned feast day ,with no real reason ,other than to have the feastday. BUT for those who need it theres a thin storyline to add structure. Its open to persons of any culture who wants to do it, folks have a simple nice humane reason to feed homeless folks, or embrace those less integrated . Once it became a beloved tradition, it has its own reason to be perpetuated.
