TheCLounge Posted November 24, 2017 Now that Carcass Day is over I'm sure all of us have stuffed our wonderful faces.. Wanted us to share some experiences What foods, spices, and plants are good for clearing out the digestive system, healing constipation, and healing the 3rd chakra? I notice spicy foods do something to me. It dissolves the crap in my bowels but it "burns" if you know what I mean..
thelerner Posted November 24, 2017 Not really a whole food, but psyllium seed, the ingredient in Metamucil makes for a good, though some say harsh, internal cleanser, due to it's fibrous expansion. The fancier colon cleansers will mix it with herbs and softeners. I'll take a dose 2 or 3 days in a row, then twice a day for another day or two. By the end you don't need toilet paper.

C T Posted November 24, 2017 Organic-based detox regimes usually include aloe vera, nettle, dandelion roots, Indian bitter melon, and pure cider vinegar in various formulas. Juicing greens and herbs are great too. Go for manual juicers. Electric juicers have the propensity to 'kill' the delicate enzymes. Have been told juicing fresh wheatgrass is fantastic for detox, though no personal experience with this yet. I consume hefty amounts of herbs, and have a preference for lemongrass, cilantro/coriander, basil, sage, and also like to add bay leaves to stews and soups. Spices like cinnamon, turmeric, cumin, star anise, black pepper, and mustard seeds are great as fortifiers. One of the most effective means to detox is to drink 2 glasses of warm/hot water with slices of lime or lemon and a spoon of manuka honey first thing in the morning. Some of my friends who are detox diehards add a crushed clove of garlic to this morning drink, but i don't. I love to juice watermelons.. blend the reds, whites and seeds all into a nice smoothie. Perfect for the relieve of constipation, with the added bonus of being known as nature's viagra. If available, the yellow-fleshed variety is supposedly 5x more powerful than its red cousin.

Vajra Fist Posted November 25, 2017 I would differ. The best digestive aid is just to fast. 32 hours is probably the minimum as a restorative. If you're constipated and your intestines are full you're not going to gain much benefit from piling extra food and expensive supplements on top of all that. Just fast, it's free.

Vajra Fist Posted November 25, 2017 (edited) Yes, if you're discussing the digestive system. But obviously it depends on your body and how you feel. You'll need at least four to five days if you want to overhaul and reboot the entire immune system. Edited November 25, 2017 by Vajra Fist
