Tibetan_Ice Posted January 17, 2008 Hi, I have some questions about Kunlun for Chris or Max (please)? Background: I found the kunlun bliss website, listened to the radio show with Max and Chris, tapped into Max and experienced waves of energy, tears, emotional purging and rushes which lasted for about 1 1/2 hours. It was a very intense experience. The next day I felt like I had been run over by a truck. Later, I meditated on Max, and I saw a vision of Max standing on a small brown planet with a large orange-red sun appearing on the horizon. When I tried to tap into the sun, Max (or the image of him) held up his hand to stop me and then pretended to read lines from his hand. I interpreted this as I had to read the book before I could connect to the sun. So, I decided to buy the book and give it a try. Â I bought Pillars of Bliss and have been practicing for 4 days now. The bouncing legs happens after 2 minutes. I can feel this wave like a magnetic pulse coming up from below. There is some heat along with white cloudy misty type energy that occurs in my head when I do the practice. Incidentally, when I do the Level 1 stages, Max is there watching. There is also a white winged thing of light projecting white rays onto my me. Â I was wondering about a few things: Â 1) Do you smile for the floating meditation? 2) Do you smile when your legs are bouncing? 3) Do you smile during the close down? Â 4) In the book, it says you should not mix practices with anything that "deals with the flow of chi" because it could produce "energy sickness". I've also seen this warning on some posts on this forum that kunlun is not compatible with kundalini; in the Yogani book on Bandas, Locks and Mudras (from the AYP forum) it says that kundalini energy is the same as the energy from the Holy Ghost. My concern is this: I met Jesus about 20 years ago in a church. He told me I was saved and then proceeded to send waves of energy at me for about 40 minutes. I could not physically move for the duration. It was quit the experience. A few weeks later, the Holy Ghost (pair of white wings) shot a beam of light down to my head and if felt like someone poured honey or thick oil over top of my brain. After that I could speak in tongues. For the past 6 months I have been doing crystal chakra meditation, kundalini yoga and kundalini meditation and have experienced some interesting things and energy flows. The energy that occured when I connected to Max was the same as when I met Jesus (or so it felt like it). I can see my root chakra (looks like a golden 4 sided pyramid with 4 dark reddish wings on the sides and a small filament coming upward from the top on which there occasionally is a whitish droplet hanging on it). This is a constant vision (last three weeks). I have also activated the crown chakra which became a bathing cap of white liquid light and then taken that light down to the root through the spine and then taken the long red tail which was waving about on the root chakra back up to the crown to feed. After doing that meditation, I saw a rainbow tunnel for quite some time. When I finally quit looking at the tunnel and brought my attention down, I saw a scene of 8 monks(?) holding their hands upwards toward a flaming cauldron which was floating 10 feet above them. Â What I would like to know is whether or not I'm going to cause energy sickness by practicing Kunlun. Is the Holy Ghost's energy really chi? Is Kundalini energy chi? Should I mix the practices? What type of energy is active in me and will it build a third harmonic by practicing kunlun? I noticed that my meditations have improved since doing Kunlun. There is this large pool of calm water(?) inside the huge cavern in my head and it is so nice to float on it. Also, I get tiny filament rushes when I perform Samyama on Akasha (AYP). So far the practice of Kunlun seems to be beneficial.. Â Thank you for your time and advice. TI

Tibetan_Ice Posted January 18, 2008 I asked Max if it was okay to do Hindu mantras and Kunlun and Max said it was fine as long as they were at different times of the day. I hope that helps!  Your pal, Yoda   Hi Yoda, That helps. Thank you. I believe the 'i am' mantra, which I have been using, might be from the old testament (and Yogani), but it probably isn't any different from Hindu mantras -Om etc.  What I need to know is this:  1) If I have activated kundalini or even the Holy Ghost, which it may seem because of the type of experiences that I have been having, is it still ok to do Kunlun nei gung?  2) Can a reike practitioner, whom is channelling 'healing' energy many times a day, practice kunlun without causing energy sickness? I know a few reiki healers who would like to try kunlun...    Thanks!
Yoda Posted January 18, 2008 I think it's imperative for healers to discharge the negativity that they pick up between the time of healing and going to bed. Â I think Kunlun would be an excellent way to release that energy. Â If they are sensitive, maybe they could go by feel or just wait until before going to bed. Â If they are adventurous, they might try Kunlun before healing... it charges up the hands bigtime. The only problem with that is that I tend to be overly sensitive after Kunlun. On the whole, I like to do Kunlun very late in the day. Â Just keep that whole ayp self pacing thing in mind, and you'll be able to figure it out I'd imagine. Tibetan_Ice Posted January 20, 2008 Saturday, Jan 19 2008 Tibetan Ice  I did the Kunlun practice for five days and then quit for a breather yesterday. I was also performing spinal breathing and silence mantra meditation (i am - AYP) but at different times of the day. I have been performing the spinal breathing and deep silence meditation twice a day now for 2 months. Before that, I was performing chakra meditation, sometimes with crystals.  On Friday Jan 18, 2008, during my morning meditation, the cave inside my head, where a great body of water exists, was still very dark. I noticed this cave inside my head a couple weeks ago during Samyama (an AYP practice). When I would release a sutra, a drop of something was released into a large still body of water by this large hand that appeared in there a while ago. I would watch the ripples that the sutra droplet would cause, patiently waiting until the ripples would vanish before releasing the next sutra. The cave and the body of water were somewhat small and dark, or so they seemed. After Samyama, I kept focusing on the cave and the body of water. I wanted to explore the cave. I asked the large hand to go away and it did.  I started looking around the cave and it was very dark. I could not see much. I thought that it would be nice to have more light. Suddenly, several white pulses of light appeared in the water as waves under the surface, coming towards me. The next thing I knew, the cave became brighter and a big yellow sun started to rise on the horizon. The sun slowly ascended into the sky. At first there were a few clouds but they soon disappeared. The sun rose until it was about 40 degrees in the sky and stopped there. I was not in a cave, but some mysterious 'planet' of water, sun and sky! This was inside my head? I also noticed that 'I' or at least a dark body was sitting cross-legged and floating just above the water, staring at the sun. I went and sat next to it, hovering above the water, to check it out. It seemed relatively benign, sort of like an empty shell. I then transferred my attention to the inside of the dark body and watched the sun from within. It was soothing, nice and warm. I could put myself into the dark body or fly my attention around the dark body, looking about. All I could see was the dark body, a perfectly still ocean of water with no land, the sky and the big yellow sun.  I had to end my meditation and resume my daily activities. I noticed that the sun was a persistent image; it was there in my head throughout the day and was not going away. Persistent sun!  That afternoon, after getting home from work, I meditated again. I performed the spinal breathing (AYP) and then the "i am" meditation. I performed Samyama and then I focused on the sun. It was still there, nice, warm, relaxing, not doing too much.  During the day I had been reading about Reike Tummo, about how the heart is the centre and key to everything. In Reike Tummo, the first thing you do is learn to ground yourself to the earth, then pull down divine or cosmic energy from the sky and direct it into the earth through the sushumna (central spinal nerve). Lastly, the earth responds and sends its energy back to you, which you route through your sushumna up into the sky above through your celestial chakras.  That night, I decided to incorporate the Reike Tummo ideas into a kundalini meditation which I had learned a while ago. I grounded myself to the center of the earth with my red tail. (I have this red tail that is connected to my root chakra that flops around a lot, but it goes where I tell it to go when I think of it). Next, I envisioned cosmic or divine energy coming down from the heavens through all of the celestial chakras above the head, activating my crown chakra until it turned into a pool of liquid white light. I then proceeded to slowly take the liquid white light down through all my chakras, bathing them in white light, spinning them clockwise, taking the light all the way down to the centre of the earth. I kept this up for 30 minutes. Nothing eventful happened. I ended that part of the meditation and grounded myself.  Next, I went to the water sun and sky scene in my head and sat in the dark body for a while, watching the sun. It was very nice, calm, peaceful and warm.  As I ended the meditation I noticed a small bright white light starting to shine in my head, at about a 45 degree angle up from my forehead. This light was persistent. It did not go away, even when I was lying in bed before dozing off to sleep later that night. Now I had two persistent visions to watch; the sun sea and sky, and the little white light.  This morning, Jan 19, 2008, I woke up, and meditated for an hour. However, this time I decided to modify spinal breathing and the silence meditation, which I had been doing for two months. When I sat down to meditate, the little white light was still there, so I focused on it and it got brighter, more pronounced and gradually resembled a five pointed star. A persistent star! So, I grounded my red tail into the earth and proceeded with spinal breathing but with a twist.  Instead of taking the awareness from the root chakra to the brow and back down, I took red energy from the centre of the earth and brought it up through the spinal nerve right up into the five pointed star on the in-breath. Then, on the out-breath, I brought white light from the star, down through my brow chakra and the spinal nerve, down to the centre of the earth. Cosmic spinal breathing! I performed this for 15 minutes.  Next, I altered the "i am" meditation and instead of mentally repeating the mantra in my head, I felt it as spurts of love and desire to know god from my heart. I smiled a lot too. So, instead of repeating "i am", I felt "I send my love to God through my heart and would like to know God" and repeated the feeling over and over like a mantra from my heart. I was getting a lot of goose bumps and energy flows happening. I also felt pain at various locations in and around my heart like something was clearing. At one point, Jesus asked me what I was doing and I told him that I wanted to know God. (Jesus often appears to me in as an animated vision, I usually ask him questions and he shows me pictures of his hands performing actions or creating visions). Gradually, I could see what appeared to be massive amounts of scenes objects and things, in yellowish light but I couldn't make out much. It was just too compressed and packed. This meditation lasted 30 minutes. I ended the meditation and then focused on the sea, sky and sun scene.  The dark body was still there, floating above the water, facing the sun. However!!! The sun now had long rays coming out from it; long narrow petals of streaming yellow light. It almost looked like a sunflower with very skinny petals. One large ray of yellow light came out from the sun and pulled a white light body out of the hovering dark body and started swinging it back and forth, like a pendulum or a kite. So, I transferred my consciousness to the white light body and felt the motions swaying back and forth. Eventually, the beam of yellow light from the sun was drawing circle eights as a flight path for the white light body. It was a very nice feeling.  I finally closed the session down and grounded myself.  As the day progressed, I noticed that I had heat in my head and that I didn't feel normal. There was a pressure in my head. I was very spacey and felt very light and tingly. The sun sky water scene was still there along with the other scene with the star. I decided to do some banking and then bring a book to a female reiki healer that I had met several months ago who works in a crystal store.  As I was driving to the place where she worked I noticed that I could look at the street through my mind's eye! It looked very hazy, like flames of color! There was no detail, just wavy patterns that resembled fields of energy, sort of like the aura on a candle flame or infra red video. I parked the car and went in to talk to Jane (that's not her real name).  After recounting my experiences meditating to her, I looked at her through my mind's eye or rather, I could see the whole store through my mind's eye. Everything was glowing, shimmering bright colors, no details; it was like looking through heat sensitive vision. Shapes were no longer shapes but flowing energy patterns of light surrounding the objects. People appeared brighter and looked like layers of glimmering colors radiating outwards.  I looked at Jane and she had a large purple-red-yellow flame-like protrusion coming out of her neck radiating upwards for about 2 feet. She had an aura of bluish green with some orange on the outer edges and a patch of red on her right side below her ribs. I told her about the red patch and she proceeded to sense it with her right hand. She said that she was sore from doing Yoga yesterday. I could see yellow light streaming out from her right arm, surrounding it for a distance of about 6 inches as she moved her arm about exploring her sore side reiki style. She told me that eventually my psychic sight would become even clearer. We discussed the importance of grounding and then I left.   I think I've awakened my third eye! I think the Kunlun along with the variations in my meditation routine have seriously accelerated my growth. Right now it seems redundant to keep up the same old routines for fear that those routines, even though they had their purpose, would only serve as a kind of cage from which there is no growth. If the match catches fire, you stop striking it on the cover, don't you? And next time, don't you need another match? I might feel differently tomorrow. Right now I'm kind of in shock, in awe and sort of happy about all of this.  These are the symptoms that I am experiencing now: - a single bell dinging in my right ear at various times throughout the day, more so during meditation. The bell dinging started about two weeks ago during deep silence meditation. - tingling on the top of my head like an insect is crawling on my scalp. This too started about two weeks ago and happens two or three times a day. - heat and slight pressure throughout the whole head. - persistent sun sky water dark body scene in my head. - persistent star scene in my head. - I can visualize what I'm looking at and see it as an energy scene similar to flames of light or infra red video (third eye sight?). - I feel tingles through my whole body. - I sporadically experience waves of tingling pleasurable energy coming either from my head, heart or butt throughout the day depending on what I'm thinking about or rather, what I'm feeling at the time. They come as waves of bliss (for lack of a better term). I have experienced this bliss before so this is nothing new except now the occurrences flow very easily and more frequently.  If anyone has some experience with third eye opening, it would be very interesting to hear about it.. Thanks. TI

voidisyinyang Posted January 20, 2008 A great way to see if your bonkers or not is to just sit in full-lotus. If you can sit in full-lotus over two hours straight with no pain then your chakras are pretty well open. If you read "Opening the Dragon Gate" he starts out with the goal of 4 hours straight. His teachers actually tie him down to get through the pain. haha.

It looks like it has interesting stuff about developing inner sight and living in a box.. I've never sat in a full lotus for 4 hours. Closest I've ever come was sitting in a lazy boy for 3 hours meditating on a spot 6 inches above my head, but that was 'easy posture'. After that 3 hours, I popped out of the top of my head into a huge black space with no light in it. I felt like I was going to die. So I stopped and when I started walking around the living room to stretch my legs, two small beings of light (faeries?) appeared to me. They were so cute. They had little wings and sparkled a lot. I asked them what they wanted, and they said that they were there to entertain me. I told them I did not need entertaining and asked them to leave.. (a few days later they still came back so I gave them names and let them entertain me.. sort of a waste of time, though). Â TI
Mantra68 Posted January 21, 2008 Max has read your experiences and says that you are having spontaneous openings. You are not getting chi-sickness. Â It is important that you allow all of the energy to be stored in the abdomen not in the head (that is where all of the heat comes from). When you do this the images may dim, but don't worry you are not losing them. When the enery is stored in the lower dan tien you will become more grounded. Â Do not do Kundalini exercises at this point because you already have enough rising fire. Simplify. Doing Kunlun will create the downward flow of water and balance the fire. This will also create a more subtle refined energy flow. Â You are beyond the full lotus sitting already. Â Congratulations on your success. Â Keep us posted. I believe this is because of the Egos that I need to let go of.  I am glad you are having such openings.  Ben
voidisyinyang Posted January 21, 2008 It's definitely correct to store the energy in the lower abdomen but it's silly to say someone is "past the full-lotus stuff." haha. Full-lotus is not a technique but just the complimentary opposite harmonics in action -- in it's most intense action. Qigong master Chunyi Lin states that 20 minutes of full-lotus is worth 4 hours of any other exercise. He spent 40 days in a cave just in full-lotus: no water, no food, no sleep.  http://springforestqigong.com or http://learningstrategies.com on spring forest qigong  The goal of "supreme complete enlightenment" as described by Master Nan, Huai-chin -- is to turn the whole body back into female formless awareness or "empty awareness" as Master Nan call its. This is the same goal described in "Taoist Yoga: Alchemy and Immortality" trans. by Charles Luk.  Master Nan really emphasizes that the body must be transformed and that the full-lotus is the best way to determine if this is happening. The book "Opening the Dragon Gate" also emphasizes the full-lotus for the same reason.  Qigong master Chunyi Lin states if you want to see if someone is really a master just see how long they can sit in full-lotus in ease.  This makes sense to me. Master Ni -- of L.A. -- states that MOST Taoist practitioners are just stuck in self-help psychology and not really doing much energy transformation. This is obviously very frustrating for someone who can transmit energy and is trying to help others build up their energy systems (unless of course they're getting paid a lot no matter the results!) haha.  I can sit in full-lotus indefinitely but only if I'm transmitting and taking in energy -- sending yang energy into females or strong yin sources and then taking in their yin energy. This harmonizes the body energy for healing but it doesn't build up energy. This isn't the same as full-lotus meditation which is best described in my "The Yan Xin Secret" article at http://mind-energy.net -- Yan Xin teaches to bounce the yang light off your palms so it goes back into your belly -- the yin area. This helps to cycle the energy but the full-lotus will cycle the energy on it's own just by sitting with the eyes closed.

Oolong Rabbit Posted January 21, 2008 - tingling on the top of my head like an insect is crawling on my scalp. This too started about two weeks ago and happens two or three times a day. - heat and slight pressure throughout the whole head. Â The above symptoms happened to me several months back http://www.thetaobums.com/index.php?showtopic=3640&hl=. It was very intense for about 10 days. I was practicing semen retention and the microcosmic orbit. Similar flow of fire energy to the kundalini stuff you are doing. You might want to play around with holding the tip of your tongue to the roof of your mouth as this completes a major energy circuit and allows the energy stuck in your head to drain into the dantien. I apply this during Kunlun as well. Other than that, I wouldn't get too caught up the experiences. They are traps to lead you off the path. Notice you have already started talking about giving up your practices. Ironically that may be a good thing since you appear to be mixing practices like a mad scientist throwing unknown chemicals together. Â P.S. The dancing fairies didn't happen to look like Richard Simmons did they . (sorry, not very PC but I couldn't resist)

I remember I used to make fun of my mom and other family members who would do silly shit in public and I'd feel embarrassed, now i'm like ermm.....oops. voidisyinyang Posted January 21, 2008 See all that is just electrochemical energy. Female formless awareness is accessed only AFTER the creation of strong electromagnetic fields that then turn into light, bending spacetime. Â So conceptual knowledge is "48" by Gurdjieff, moving knowledge is "24", electrochemical or sex energy is 12 but must be ionized by ultrasound (the natural harmonics of sound) to create MI 12 or generative force (blissful heat). Â MI 12 is where most people get and most people end. To achieve hydrogen 6 -- female formless awareness -- requires resonating the M12 energy strong enough through the heart. Â The full-lotus is the direct route to do this because the 24 or moving energy is neutralized by the 12 energy -- sex energy, through the internal climax created by the full-lotus. Â That's why I sit in full-lotus at the computer, while reading in restaurants, cafes, the library, at work, etc. Â Even still my current energy is just yang bliss light -- or the lead of alchemy -- the vitality (electrochemical energy) that is "scattered" or shot of the 3rd eye. To create chi or electromagnetic energy (mercury) is seen as gold (shen or spirit light) in Taoism. It requires focusing the energy inward to build it up -- rejecting the mundane world. Â That's what's required to open up the third eye initially -- called a gong or 100 days of training or the 3 months in the sacred forest, required by the matrilineal witchcraft training in Africa (or Brazil). This will also create a more subtle refined energy flow.  You are beyond the full lotus sitting already.  Congratulations on your success.  Keep us posted.  Chris  Hi Max and Chris Please let me say, thank you for the book, thank you for the teachings, thank you for taking your time and energy to share this with the world. I really appreciate it! Kunlun is a catalyst that it seems I've needed in order to accelerate my growth.  Yes, I used the kechari technique (tongue tip on the soft palate) along with the closing routine with hands on my lower dan tien and immediately I experienced a tremendous wave of tingly ecstatic energy pouring out of my head! It was so intense I almost threw up. Waves and waves! Very nice! I maintained this for 1/2 an hour. My head felt much better and clearer after that. The star and the sun and third eye sight are still there and have, as you mentioned, faded a little bit but not much. I also noticed that for the remainder of the night until I finally fell asleep, my palms were tingly and burning hot. Really tingly and very hot.  Today, I feel fine. I'm having a lot of fun viewing people through my third eye (astral sight?). I find that this astral sight has a wider range than normal sight and it comes from higher up in perspective. I can see around corners, or rather, I can adjust my viewpoint to see around things. Most people look like colored flames and some people don't have much color or their colors are darker..  Again, thank you Max and Chris for the advice, attention and teachings. I will keep you posted.  TI Edited January 22, 2008 by Tibetan_Ice
Tibetan_Ice Posted January 22, 2008 Wow, that is pretty amazing! Â Just curious - how old are you and how long have you been cultivating? Sounds like you're been doing this stuff for awhile and it's really paying off now.. Â IOW - many, many nights led to this "overnight" success now. So, well done! Â I am 51 years old. I have been seeking since I was 5. Here is a concise list of things I have been into: Carlos Casteneda, Autobiography of a Yogi, Key to Secret Worlds, Eckankar, yoga, pranayama, crystals, the Bible, Reiki, channelling, Out Of Body Journies, Edgar Cayce, Robert Monroe, Paul Twitchell, judo, karate, kundalini, tai chi, qi qong, The Essence of the Bhagavad Gita, astral travelling, levitation meditation, gazing, third eye opening, rainbows, Samuel Sagan, 2 years of Self Realization Fellowship lessons and energization exercises, chakra meditation, Cosmic Orbit, pyramids, buddhism, nasal irrigation, my own meditation inventions and others. The only problem with writing an in depth history is that it would take a long time, it's not good for my ego and I'd rather be meditating. Â Ok, here are some highlights from the last three months: I have been doing spinal breathing and deep silence meditation for the last two months or so, twice a day every day before meals, except three times a day on weekends. (AYP Advanced Yoga Practices - Yogani) I did kundalini yoga (Gurmuhk's DVD) 2 times a week along with top-down kundalini meditations once or twice a week. I also did laying of stones (crystal layouts about 6 times). I pray a lot and I am very grateful for what I have experienced I did Kunlun for 5 days, experienced very strong waves and pulses and this seems to have sped up and enhanced everything. Now that I realize that I can store the energy in my dan tien with the help of my tongue (kechari), it should be very interesting (and easier on my head). I have also been oil pulling for 8 days straight. Â I don't think I have accomplished that much and I hope not to get too distracted by all this mana. Tibetan_Ice Posted January 22, 2008 You might want to play around with holding the tip of your tongue to the roof of your mouth as this completes a major energy circuit and allows the energy stuck in your head to drain into the dantien. Â P.S. The dancing fairies didn't happen to look like Richard Simmons did they . (sorry, not very PC but I couldn't resist) Â Hey Oolong Rabbit, thanks for that suggestion about using the tongue. It works for me! In the AYP lessons, kechari is supposed to help bring ecstatic conductivity up; I didn't realize it would work with bringing kunlun energy down, but it does for me. I appreciate your suggestion. Thanks! Â And thanks for the not very PC laugh. Â TI
Mal Posted January 22, 2008 To sort of hijack a bit. Â Does anyone routinely keep their tongue touching the roof of the mouth? Back in the 90's I though it would be good to do this all the time, so every time I though of it throughout the day I would touch my tongue to my pallet. After a year every time I though of it, it was already touching. Â Effects, not really any I've noticed. Apart from being annoying when you read instruction that say, now touch the tongue to the roof of the mouth, Arrgh I've already been doing that

To not have your tongue against the upper palate means you have tension. It doesn't need to be the tongue tip either. Whole tongue forward to exclude air, filling the mouth. It's a natural condition of non tension. Other ways require tension.
