I put  sprinkler in the tree and keep the birdbath full.  A few different birds sit amongst the branches showering.  Kiddie pool up the back and a basin under dripping tap out the front.

 

Cant help the bats though .   They dont seem smart enough to simply move into the shade ,  just a few feet away,  some hang from branches in the shade but others choose bare branches at the top in full sun ... and fry .

I have long wanted to try these kind of clothes in the heat. It seems that you can feel comfortable in it during the heat. In Arab countries, where the temperature can rise up to + 50 ° C, the local feel comfortable, they are saved by loose long robes made of cotton, silk or satin. Natural tissues help with thermoregulation of the body, and a closed outfit protects the body from overheating.

 

But in reality I often have to save myself from strong northern frosts than from the heat.

Well, I did wear long sleeve flannel when I went out to check for mail.

 

If I dressed like that most would mistake me as some kind of ninja, especially if I was carrying one of my swords.

You carry a sword when you go out to check for mail?  What kind of a neighborhood is that?  

 

I have to use a wooden sword when practicing in the park, they don't allow metal ones in the open in public, and they don't care that it's not sharpened -- if it's steel, you can't draw it.  Which is a bummer, because a jian is like a whip, you vibrate with its flexible movement -- but a wooden one does nothing of the kind.  And the balance is off and the weight is too insubstantial.  Maybe you as a sword specialist could recommend a source for a really good balanced wooden practice jian?

I've been thinking of asking my buddy for that wooden plank from his dad's ol boat, an extra from a repair job 35, 40 years ago, I think its mahogany, it seems about the right thickness.  But of course it wont whip

Temperatures in Russia so cold they are in excess of -20 celsius BELOW THE TRIPLE POINT OF Co2!

This means that if atmospheric C02 was at a high enough percentage it would snow dry ice, just like Mars!

 

There is one caveat however, - the triple point of Co2 can only be observed at five atmospheres or more of pressure. Not to worry, dry ice, at atmospheric pressure, sublimates at -109 Farenheit (-78.6 celsius) so at -119 farenheit, it could still snow dry ice there, because it is still significantly colder than the triple point of Co2.

 

I do not think anyone is going to be playing games in that kind of cold, but evidently Russians are still bundling up and going to work like normal. The cold temperatures are expected to persist for two more weeks. See this

It's insane!
On Tuesday, in Russia's Yakutia region, temperatures dropped to an unbelievable 84 degrees below zero.
Temperatures are so low that thermometers are freezing and bursting.
For the Yakutians, cold Januarys are normal, so life typically goes on.
But Tuesday's temperatures were so cold, schools were closed and people had been advised to stay indoors.
The government has warned of emergencies at energy plants due to increased loads and warned everyone about the increased danger of fires from indoor heaters.
But for those with jobs to do, it's on with that extra layer, brave the freezing fog and get on with the day.
In the Magadan region, further to the south, it was a little warmer - a balmy 67 degrees below zero. Farther south, in the Krasnoyarsk region, it was a milder minus 40, although with wind chill it felt like 58 degrees below zero.
Even by Siberian standards, this year has been extremely cold, and the bad news is that these extreme temperatures are expected to last until the end of the month.

No, not to check my mail.  But I have practiced my Two-sword Tai Chi outdoors on the driveway whenever I can.

Your law is tougher than mine.  Mine states that one cannot wave it around in a threatening manner.  If there is no one around no one would be threatened.

 

I never did any research on the wooden swords.  I do recall seeing some when I was searching for carbon-steel swords though.  I'm sure places of training use them so they would know where they can be purchased.

I have one some where made from the main  circular saw blade from the old  Boggy Creek Mill  - it is  crazily too big ... but they dont make  steel like that any more !
