mwight Posted January 27, 2008 very interesting... the wavelength used was around 1072nm which isn't light and isn't heat, not sure what it is really. It was first used to treat cold sores and wounds as it sped up healing tremendously, it was later found to help regrow all cells. this maybe perhaps a form of yang energy? karen Posted January 27, 2008 Infrared penetrates deeply into cells and oxygenates them. How it works: http://altmed.creighton.edu/sauna/how_it_works.htm

三江源 Posted January 27, 2008 I have a little hand held infra red device which I hold to my ear before going to sleep, sometimes. ( The ear, as you know, is much like the foot, in that it is a microcosm of the body for acupressure / puncture points.) And I use it on certain acupressure points too, along the arms and feet. It works as a harmonising treatment. I also use it on scrapes and cuts - they heal faster. I got one, because I so enjoyed having infra red on me, when my acupuncturist used it. rain Posted January 27, 2008 CO2 absorbs infrared light. when light is absorbed the pressure heightens and heat increases....
