Nothing Posted April 28, 2018 (edited) In my case it would be these: Meditate and always reflect about life, know that there is a spiritual world and explore it, cultivate wisdom and compassion. Treat others good. Treat yourself good. Read spiritual texts and examine their truth. Believe in yourself, live healthy, eat healthy, be satisfied with what you have. Love is something wonderful. Don't watch porn. Edited April 28, 2018 by Nothing
Goddodin Posted April 28, 2018 Don’t indulge in self pity. Don’t look for barriers. Don't constantly seek validation from others. If you’ve found something that’s good enough - a practice, a person, a belief system - stick with it. A half decent plan that is aggressively enacted is way better than a load of perfect ones you never fully embrace.
Miffymog Posted April 28, 2018 All the advice I'd give is based on experiences I've had by not taking advice. So, the only advice I could give my younger self is, don't listen to any advice. But, if my younger self was not to take this advice, would he actually in fact then be taking this advice … ? Time travel sure is confusing! As is some people’s advice!

thelerner Posted April 28, 2018 There's probably no advice I'd give younger self that I didn't have access to back then, and disregarded. I could go back in time, give my younger self a lottery number, see the havoc that wreaks, have to go back in time to correct it, then keep playing the game til the system goes futzz. Better not to bother my younger self and not have that twerp bother me.

dawei Posted April 28, 2018 I would not alter the past.. otherwise the present and future are also completely different. Then what is the point of the idea of a destiny ? Even consider if you turned left instead of right; woke up one day a minute later; you decided on this and not that instead of that over this... everything would be different too. A lesson learned the the past guides our present and future. I don't see it the other way around as useful to ponder. JMO.

Lost in Translation Posted April 29, 2018 I did give my younger self advise, in the form of older and wiser men who took it upon themselves to mentor me. Some of them I listened to. The rest I ignored.

In practice it's true until you come in and open the windows I guess. Until then that's why it's good to come and go. Can life be summarized as exchanges ? I was not talking about bride or marriage but about internal practice and relation to the externality. I think it's not a good think to focus too much on ourself or consider success or knowledge or wisdom as a bride. Systems in nature are not self closed. A tree for instance shares its sap every night, that's how plants communicate and exchange resources up. 20% to 40% of what plants harvest (azote, potassium, whatever they need) is shared among the root system of trees. Not only nutriments but also arn messages. A tree can produce more than 1000 arn-messages shared through sap. Because plants are less autonomous (obviously they can't move) so they have to work in interaction so that they creates complex systems perfectly integrated to their local environment. We human tend to do the opposite, simplify the environment to gain more autonomy. And then what we do with that ? we compete... for domination.
