Italian Chiaroscuro really affected my sense... and paramount was Caravaggio

Claude Monet literally created the impressionist movement with his painting "Sunrise" in 1874.

I usually don't care much for Monet but this one really is quite remarkable. I will have to put this somewhere where I can reflect on it until I can understand its appeal. Thanks!

actually that's not too bad, but see a full exhibition of her work and you can't help noticing the strong intimate feminine expressions.

Archaeologists, in a cave deep in the jungles of Borneo, found the oldest figurative art in the world: the image above of a spindly-legged animal, drawn in reddish ocher, more than 40,000 years old.

The discovery suggests ancient humans seem to have made an important change in how they saw the world at roughly the same time in regions thousands of miles apart.
