Marblehead Posted July 30, 2018 Master Leh was on a journey and was having a meal by the side of the road. There he saw a hundred-year-old skull. He pulled away the weeds and pointed at it, saying, "Only you and I know that you have never died and that you have never lived. Are you truly distressed? Am I truly happy?"
Taoist Texts Posted July 30, 2018 (edited) 2 hours ago, Marblehead said: you have never died and that you have never lived Mair inserts 'you' where there was none in the original. Leh seems to say the skull was his previous incarnation Edited July 30, 2018 by Taoist Texts
Marblehead Posted July 30, 2018 Yeah, this is a difficult section as it speaks to the concept of what life and death really are. What is life? What remains after death? Are we really living or are we equal to being dead?
silent thunder Posted June 14, 2020 (edited) It is decay of life that nurtures life. The decay of life in my gut, fuels my vitality and continues my life. Living only lives on the decay of other life. One flowing cycle of life consuming life through decay. One flowing cycle of decay nurturing life through decay. Decay is Life.
