Shubin Posted October 8, 2018 I have been trying to translating some text from Korean to Chinese/English, and from Chinese to Korean/English, so I went to Google and searched with "top online translation tools". The top three in an article of search results are Google, Microsoft and Day Translator, https://www.daytranslations.com/blog/2018/07/top-3-online-translation-tools-2018-work-11698/ After tried to translate a paragraph of Korean, one of my pen pals found one that can do better than Google Translate. Here is my ranking: 1. papago.naver.com 2. translate.google.com 3. Day Translator 4. bing translator PROMT: cannot translate Chinese ImTranslator: did not do a good job The paragraph we used for testing:
dosa Posted October 8, 2018 okey, You don't mind if I try? well, to cut a long story short 張伯端在《金丹四百自序》內有以下一段: 「要知身中一竅,名曰玄牝,此竅者,非心非腎,非口非鼻也,非脾胃也,非穀道也,非膀胱也,非丹田也,非泥丸也,能知此之一竅,則冬至在此矣,藥物在此矣,火侯亦在此矣,沐浴亦在此矣,結胎亦在此矣,脫體亦在此矣,此竅乃神氣之根,虛無之谷,即在身中求之,不可求於他也」 I will try to translate Korean tomorrow. I have to sleep today.
Shubin Posted October 8, 2018 (edited) I hope more people can try and find out a few tools that can do a good job on translating Classical Chinese into English as well as other language. Take it easy and have a rest. Edited October 8, 2018 by Shubin
Shubin Posted October 8, 2018 (edited) BTW, I have moved the topic 欢迎来自韩国的 玄妙之道 to the top (for 24 hours?) so it will not mixed with other topics. http://xiulian.cn/Discuz/forum.php?mod=forumdisplay&fid=5 Edited October 8, 2018 by Shubin

Into English...Pleco smartphone app with Kroll's Student Dictionary. Wenlin is another good one, it's a desktop app, and isn't as geared toward Classical Chinese as Kroll's dictionary is.
Shubin Posted October 11, 2018 (edited) It turned out that papago.naver.com was made by a Korean company, and it was released at July, 2017. “Like the latest version of Google Translate, Papago relies on a new, AI-based computing algorithm called neural machine translation to deliver more accurate and natural translations.” http://www.nationmultimedia.com/detail/Startup_and_IT/30321483 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naver_Papago It can translate a web page。Google translators can do it, too.
