Fa Xin Posted December 27, 2018 Hi folks. A friend of mine recently found a Tigers eye bracelet on the ground. She asked me what the symbol meant, but I have no idea. Just because I practice kung fu, doesn’t mean I can read or write other languages! I thought I’d ask all my learned brothers and sisters here, maybe someone can help. Thanks! whitesilk Posted February 9, 2019 Huainanzi 6.1 "...Now if you keep intact your nature and guard your authenticity and do not do damage to your person [when you] meet with emergencies or are oppressed by difficulties, your essence will penetrate [upward] to Heaven;..."
whitesilk Posted February 9, 2019 judging by the pictograph it could be a man holding a shen or binding cord between heaven and earth.
doc benway Posted February 9, 2019 (edited) It looks like the seed syllable A in an early form of Sanskrit called Siddham: http://www.visiblemantra.org/a.html Notice the similarity to the Tibetan Uchen seed syllable A in my avatar. Nungali Posted February 9, 2019 " st because I practice kung fu, doesn’t mean I can read or write other languages! " I used to get asked to interpret symbols on things at my Tarot reading stall at the markets - well, if he reads tarot cards, maybe .... I will give here then, my standard interpretation ( as a few times people have shown me something they wear with an unknown symbol or writing on it ) : < studies it closely, slowly mouths some interpretation and then > " The finder of this object will be cursed for life "

Here is some info - http://khentrulrinpoche.com/study/ that symbol is on that necklace? Sorry - it may have a fancy meaning but I don't that image on that necklace (or whatever it is - string of beads). To me it looks like an animal - a lizard on top of another animal or a stump. Sorry to get Freudian with the gestalt schtick - but maybe I'm just more prone to seeing Nature in things.
Fa Xin Posted February 10, 2019 Haha! I see the lizard too. Rorschachs are fun. Thanks
Everything Posted February 11, 2019 (edited) Well ok, I drew it. Since it is tiger eye... It might be strength? Otherwise just the letter A? Why? I have no idea. Edited February 11, 2019 by Everything

I think we may have found a close one, though the top left (if viewed sideways) seems to dip down instead of up. Either way, good catch! Strength was my first thought but unless it’s a very artsy rendition, it doesn’t seem to match Edited February 15, 2019 by Fa Xin
