Unknown symbol

Recommended Posts

Hi folks.

A friend of mine recently found a Tigers eye bracelet on the ground. She asked me what the symbol meant, but I have no idea. Just because I practice kung fu, doesn’t mean I can read or write other languages!

I thought I’d ask all my learned brothers and sisters here, maybe someone can help. Thanks!

So far mostly i see some kind of fancy A :D

For a guess in Chinese there is 扎(zhā) meaning like to tie something together..

Turn sideways, an embellished 土(tǔ) earth element?

Thank you, the zha and A are interesting guesses.

Upsidedown it reminds me of an old video game I used to play 😄

That's the symbol of the Kalachakra.

It stands for Wheel of Time and is the symbol of a sacred tantra of Vajrayana Buddhism.

Here is some info - http://khentrulrinpoche.com/study/

Cool, thanks Steve! I’ve heard of Kalachakra empowerment’s given by HH. Appreciate the info!

" st because I practice kung fu, doesn’t mean I can read or write other languages!    "

:D

I used to get asked to interpret symbols on things at my Tarot reading stall at the markets -  well, if he reads tarot cards, maybe ....

I will give here then,  my standard interpretation  ( as a few times people have shown me something  they wear with an unknown symbol or writing on it ) :

< studies it closely, slowly mouths some interpretation and then  >   "  The finder of this object will be cursed for life  "

that symbol is on that necklace? Sorry - it may have a fancy meaning but I don't that image on that necklace (or whatever it is - string of beads).

To me it looks like an animal - a lizard on top of another animal or a stump. Sorry to get Freudian with the gestalt schtick - but  maybe I'm just more prone to seeing Nature in things.

Since it is tiger eye... It might be strength?

Otherwise just the letter A? Why? I have no idea.

Isn't there a Chinese proverb:

'A curse is a blessing.'

Or maybe the japanese letter "chi"?

I think we may have found a close one, though the top left (if viewed sideways) seems to dip down instead of up. Either way, good catch!

Strength was my first thought but unless it’s a very artsy rendition, it doesn’t seem to match

Looks like a stylized Sanskrit S. But could be a P or M too.
