Armando Posted March 3, 2019 Hello my friends,  The crucial question of how to deal with destructive emotions that keep us from acting with wisdom, compassion and loving kindness has been raised in another thread.   I take the liberty to quote some of the posts that particularly inspired me to start the current topic, including my own replies to them, as this may serve to highlight some of the complexities that are inevitably involved.      Let me start by presenting a simple method from Tibetan Buddhism that I like very much and that I often practise myself. But most of all, I chose this particular method because, in its simplicity and beauty, it is something anybody can use anytime, whether they consider themselves Buddhists or not.  And talking about that, by no means do we need to limit this discussion to Buddhist methods. Actually, I would love to hear also from people outside those traditions about what they are doing to deal with negativity they find in themselves and in others. That's why I chose to post this topic in General Discussion rather than in the Buddhist section.  That said, I do hope specifically for my new Buddhist friends to chime in.  Anyway, may I present now the so-called Tonglen cleansing method. This can be used whenever you encounter a negative emotion either in your environment or in yourself and you feel the urge to do something about it.  Once this has been established, you turn your attention to all the other people in the world that are feeling that same emotion.  Then you inhale slowly, and while doing so, you take all that negativity into your heart centre, carefully maintaining awareness. There in your heart centre, you visualise some kind of black hole absorbing that dark cloud of negativity (or whatever form you are giving it) completely.  Hold your breath for a few seconds. Allow all negativity to be transformed in your heart centre!  Now as you exhale, visualise and feel all this cleansed energy emanating from a star-like spot in your heart centre, right where the black hole used to be previously.  Allow yourself to bathe in this energy and send it out to your environment and all those people that may benefit from it.  If you try this simple exercise, I would love to hear back from you about your experiences.  Armando

And chanting mantras can be seen as a variation of that.  It goes without saying that sometimes we need to dig deeper to get somewhere with our issues. I suppose you are saying that mathematical ratios and proportions are "materialistic".... because that is what I understand it to be based on.  ...all organized music ( not random sounds ), is based on mathematical ratios... so I don't see how one is materialistic more so than any other...  Yes you can start with math professor Luigi Borzacchini's published article on the music origins of western math. https://sci-hub.tw/10.1007/s00407-007-0125-0 So I first got a reply from him back in 2001 - when I had a dream of a music-math equation and I mailed it to him in Italy - it was scribbled down. He mailed me back stating my math was "good" but I had no "historical proof" that the equation was used. So I contacted him based on his postings on an academic math forum and it was that research in 1999 that eventually got published in 2007, as above.  So he goes into the cognitive bias of Western science - something we all get "hard-wired" into from early math by age 14 with the Pythagorean Theorem.  So then around 2004 I discovered Fields math professor Alain Connes stating that music theory could provide the formal language for his new noncommutative unified field science. So I was not sure if he was being just "metaphorical" since science often relies on music theory as a model - for example Newton directly got his inverse square law from music theory.  So I then discovered Connes has a music theory lecture on youtube - and as he explains in his math publications - there are lots of examples of noncommutative math models but music theory provides the foundation to understand this noncommutative phase logic.  So I have quotes about the music theory part of his talk - on my blog at http://elixirfield.blogspot.com  So at this point I had been calling my research on these "ratios" as you call them - I called it "complementary opposite ratios" and I had several articles published about how these "complementary opposite ratios" are actually NOT the same was Western math. So this is what Alain Connes is stating as well - only he calls the "complementary opposite ratios" as "noncommutative phase" logic.  OK so already on my own - I studied music theory intensely from piano lessons starting at 5 years old and then taking music theory class from my music teacher. Then her husband was a former University music professor so he taught me also orchestration and ear training and composition and music theory - privately. So Connes makes the comparison to orchestration - and this was something I could understand viscerally as I had done that training (to transpose multiple different spacetime clefs at the same time).  OK so on my own research I had rejected the symmetric commutative Western tuning but then I realized that Daoist qigong was based on the "orthodox" Pythagorean music tuning - what I had been calling "complementary opposite ratios." So I had several articles published about this around 2006 and 2007, 2008.  So one of my research articles - it is no longer "free" - it's posted on Amazon as a $1 e-book. https://www.amazon.com/Do-Ohm-Up-Yin-Yang-Spiritual-Training-ebook/dp/B012Z45TR2 I don't have an e-reader. So that was a kind of final summary of the music theory. But you can find me debating lots of people on this topic - over at Abovetopsecret. http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread807082/pg1 and my articles published https://www.mind-energy.net/archives/151-The-Secret-of-Psychic-Music-Healing.html and https://www.mind-energy.net/archives/264-against-archytas-how-the-west-lost-alchemy-or-paranormal-complimentary-opposite-harmonics.html and http://www.soundofstars.org/brainnews.htm is someone giving excerpts. I also had free books published: https://www.gearslutz.com/board/attachments/the-moan-zone/279031d1330198691-retune-your-music-444-old-tuning-standard-alchemy-rainbow-heart-music.pdf So that has 725 scholarly footnotes. http://www.viewzone.com/spiritualhealing.html That's a 2 part article. http://www.lulu.com/spotlight/naturalresonancerevolution These books are all "full free preview."  OK so all that material was BEFORE I had seen the above Alain Connes lecture that crystallized the noncommutative phase connection to the music theory - thereby corroborating my "complementary opposite ratios" claims.  So then I made the connection that the "three gunas" of India were also based on the same noncommutative phase secret of Daoist and Pythagorean nonwestern music harmonics. https://elixirfield.blogspot.com/2019/01/the-three-gunas-in-daoism-yes-via.html and https://elixirfield.blogspot.com/2019/02/the-three-gunas-of-no-guna-as-secret-of.html You have to scroll down a lot to get to the blog post. a Daoist alchemy scholar Pregadio on Neidan:  Quote The twelve-stage sequence also establishes correspondences with other duodenary series: ...the bells and pitch-pipes."  http://ecoechoinvasives.blogspot.com/2018/02/the-blue-light-of-blues-music-ii.html another article So then on the connection to rhythm: https://elixirfield.blogspot.com/2018/06/what-makes-humans-special-human-paradox.html https://ecoechoinvasives.blogspot.com/2018/03/west-african-sumerian-connections-as-32.html So it turns out one of my early sources from high school remained very important - this was the quantum physicist Sir James Jeans - his book "Science and Music." https://elixirfield.blogspot.com/2018/06/why-hertz-hurtz-as-ditonic-comma-lie.html https://elixirfield.blogspot.com/2018/06/daoist-harmonics-has-same-2-hertz.html https://elixirfield.blogspot.com/2018/04/daoist-harmonics-is-there-idiotsdummys.html https://elixirfield.blogspot.com/2018/04/why-is-23-not-yin-and-why-do-we-need-to.html https://elixirfield.blogspot.com/2018/04/whats-43-got-to-do-with-3-not-going.html https://elixirfield.blogspot.com/2018/04/why-do-people-enjoy-false-music-asks.html https://elixirfield.blogspot.com/2018/04/is-there-right-and-wrong-in-music.html https://elixirfield.blogspot.com/2018/06/daoist-harmonics-has-same-2-hertz.html So based on this noncommutative phase secret of music theory - then I was able to mathematically disprove the "Comma of Pythagoras" - despite it still being on Wikipedia, etc.      Edited March 7, 2019 by voidisyinyang
Everything Posted March 7, 2019 (edited) Your negative emotion is always highlighting a very specific energy, that is general to you, in terms of life and energy.  The guidance of your emotions, is such, that it always contains the answer unto itself.  Where there is an energy that is being summoned, and thus then contradicted, or resisted, at the same time, this discordance can be defined, in terms of emotions, in your current now life experience, always here and now, as your emotions are always an indication of your here and now energy, always perfectly indicating your energy in the here and now moment.  So let's say, you feel pain. That unto itself, is pointing you towards the energy motional essence, of that relief. "Relief" is a non-physical, energy motional, e-motional, idea. That is the general essence, foundational building blocks of the energy that you are seeking to align yourself with by virtue of your focusing your self, into the idea of relief, and what it is thus then for you, in ever expanding ALLOWED realisation that happens by virtue of your focusing on the idea or word of "relief." this focusing, causes the expansion of thought, and flow of energy, throughout your physical vessel. The first evidence, is emotional, then manifestational. The core is a deliberate focus on relief, as a general energy grid that is allowed to expand.  The pain is not to be transformed, it is just pointing you towards the relief, reminding you of the relief that is available to you.   When you have a vague negative emotion of "loneliness" for example. You may not know what is the positive emotion of loneliness? Because loneliness is not an energy motional state of being. It is a conditional event, that one terms to be lack of people, thus one cannot find the healing of the emotion due to this confusion. And the way to clarity, is easy.  You simply think about your emotion. Being loneliness, now let's say that that means that you want togetherness. But since that's not an emotion, you ask yourself this "Why do I want togetherness? Why does it feel better, and what about it feels better, and how does that feel?"  So you imagine being together with people in the way you prefer to be with people. And you see in your imaginion, reaching for a vision that feels good to you, of something you wish to experience. For example, being loved by someone. Or people caring about you, and being good to you. And you feel very good. Then you realise, oh I want togetherness because I want people to be good to me!  Continue this process asking yourself why you want it. Not asking yourself to justify your preference or desire, but why you want and enjoy the thing you do want. So not "Oh, because I am lonely." no... "Because I enjoy it when people love me! I love being loved."  Now you have the emotional clarity of the foundational, underlying energy motion grid that you're working here with. It is one of feeling "unloved and loved" rather than "loneliness and togetherness" which would imply many unrelated conditional manifestations, where as unloved and loved, are at the core of your experience in such a case, which you discover by asking yourself why you want those things and why you don't want those things you do not want. Meaning, neglect, feels careless and feels unloved. And loved feels cared for and thus loved. As imagined by you, your own preference, as you are feeling your own envisioning of the life circumstances you envision for the purpose of feeling them.  Now you can simply acknowledge your physical life feels unloved. Now you focus on loved. Feeling loved. You focus on the general energy grid matrix, of loved. And by focusing, it expands, in thought, and thoughts like it join your thought of loved. And you begin seeing what it means to you to be loved. And as you continue your focus and expand your focus on loved and what feels like that, feels similar to it, as you allow those thoughts of "loved" to flow naturally, by virtue of your placing your attention on the idea of "loved" the primary manifestional evidence of your energy motional alignment, and thus expansion, is an emotion. Of feeling loved. The secondary manifestational evidence and of expansion, is life circumstances of "loved" become more fully realised by you. You will by virtue of consistent focused on the idea of "loved" allow the thought to grow and expand and attract other thoughts which are related to it, be capable of recognizing conditions in your life that feel in resonance with "loved" which then allows for further conditional, manifestational, physical expansion, and synchronisation and alignment and expansion of events, conditions, people, things, that all fall into that category of loved, for the purpose of reflecting the energy motional momentum and trajectory of the simple decision made by the free will entity, to focus your energy motional energy grid matrix into being, of your own personal choice, by virtue of your simple placing your attention on "loved" the word, and allow what it is means to you to flow forth through your mind and expand ongoingly. Through your heart, your conditions, and your future aswell.  It is always helpful, to begin with an emotional clarity, when you do the energy motional work, of shifting and re-aligning.  Confusion can be an emotion aswell. But if you find there are more underlying emotions, in your current life experience, then clarity might be a way to uncover them. So you can focus on clarity, and eventually, you'll come to see yourself, you may feel something lacking, and you feel how it feels and on you go. Focusing on abbundance, and attracting life experience, of re-alignment back into your fuller greater total being.  Edited March 7, 2019 by Everything 1

voidisyinyang Posted March 12, 2019 (edited) 10 hours ago, Jadespear said: Back onto the transformation ( re-configuration ) idea:  Check out this website:  http://cymaticsource.com/    So I have investigated cymatics before - even reading Hans Jenny's original book that coined the term. Since you recommended it again then I investigated it further - especially since recently Nobel Physicist Brian Josephson has also been promoting cymatics. So as I've mentioned, Professor Josephson corresponded with me several times over the past 10 years or so - and so now he is emphasizing acoustics. So then Cymatics is also now promoting Nobel physicist Josephson who gave a recent lecture on water acoustics and cymatics. So as I read the comments to his posting of his lecture, on his youtube channel, then he recommends a site called "Mereon." So when I go to Mereon - LO! - it is based on the math research of Louis Kauffman!  Who is Louis Kauffman but the collaborator with Eddie Oshins the Daoist Neigong quantum psychology researcher who relied on noncommutative phase logic. So the last I corresponded with Professor Josephson I was encouraging him to investigate noncommutative phase logic of music theory - and also he practices qigong as well. So now he is investigating the noncommutative phase logic of acoustics!  So this is a very encouraging sign. Then I see that the Mereon research is based on a lady who had an NDE experience with some vision - and somehow then they tested the frequency just under 8 hertz on the Cymascope - and sure enough - as predicted - it emitted a blue light! But the blue light was a 90 degree phase shift (noncommutative) with the sound. This fits perfectly with the research.  I did a blog post on this - https://elixirfield.blogspot.com/2019/03/brian-josephson-on-louis-kauffman.html  Just scroll down a lot to get the blog post.  As for the emotional aspect - well that gets back to the music and meditation. One of the main themes then is the body-mind as a musical instrument that transforms the emotional energy.  This gets me back to my "Blue Light of Blues Music" article - I must have linked that above already. But in my "conspirachi" blog book I go into this also.  Our research and that of other scientists suggest that activation of the vagus nerve is associated with feelings of caretaking and the ethical intuition that humans from different social groups (even adversarial ones) share a common humanity. People who have high vagus nerve activation in a resting state, we have found, are prone to feeling emotions that promote altruism—compassion, gratitude, love and happiness. Arizona State University psychologist Nancy Eisenberg has found that children with high-baseline vagus nerve activity are more cooperative and likely to give. This area of study is the beginning of a fascinating new argument about altruism: that a branch of our nervous system evolved to support such behavior. So again what makes the throat singing work is the activation of the left side vagus nerve but it is activated by the nonlinear resonance of the ELF subharmonics and the ultrasound overtone harmonics. These love hormones are brought out by the slow blues music - as shown in this magical "Story of the Weeping Camel" doc of shamanic healing blues love resonance This is also why in music a person gets the "chills" down the spine (aka frisson) - Even the Blues Feel Good in a Musician’s Brain (1/6/16)....The researchers found that expressing sadness activated the reward center of the brain, while playing happy music did not....Sad music, on the other hand, directly stimulates the reward center of the brain, releasing the chemical dopamine and making us feel good...."if expressing certain emotions creates more reward, we would expect to see them represented in art more often." There has been a strong nonlinear harmonic activation from the vagus nerve -  Does music give you an ORGASM? Certain melodies and harmonies can trigger a physical response similar to sex in some - either from strong overtones or strong subharmonics and the chills have been proven to be the inner ear activation of the vagus nerve to the pineal gland which then increases dopamine levels or opiods - also through the vagus nerve: 2013 pdf neurochemistry of music study  Music listening reportedly lowers requirements for opiate drugs in postoperative pain [45], which suggests that music may stimulate the release of endogenous opioid peptides within the brain. A frequently cited older study found that self-reported thrills and chills during music listening could be blocked by the opioid antagonist naloxone, which provided tentative evidence of a causal link between musical reward and the central release of endogenous opioids [17]. The "Mozart Effect" is from the slow middle movement of late baroque, early classical music - the one beat per second (60 bpm of the slow movement) resonates the heart beat and alpha brain waves of the right brain. Watch full documentary here - Alive Inside: The Magic of Music and Memory This was the secret to poetry being sung to the "lyre" harp in Western Asia early civilization - so that long photographic memorization is possible in this trance right brain dominant state. Alive Inside - the Magic of Music to treat memory disease - video news interview  Infinite spiral of fifths from noncommutative time-frequency  Edited March 12, 2019 by voidisyinyang
Bindi Posted March 13, 2019 From the Lingshu scroll compiled in the 1st century BCE on the basis of earlier texts.  Too much joy and happiness can cause the spirit to shrink and scatter and not stay stored. Sorrow and grief can cause qi to be blocked in the foundations so it does not move. Great anger causes confusion and doubt and a lack of control. Fear and fearing cause the spirit to be unsettled, to shrink away and to be non-receptive.  The wise nourish life by flowing with the four seasons and adapting to cold or heat, by *harmonizing joy and anger in a tranquil dwelling, by balancing yin and yang, and what is hard and soft. So it is that dissolute evil cannot reach the man of wisdom, and he will be witness to a long life.  *"Harmonizing joy and anger" refers to not allowing any emotion to become dominant or extreme, but it also refers to the opposite problem of unnaturally avoiding experience of emotions by setting up barriers.       2
