Ad_B Posted June 30, 2019 (edited) Thats not a tecnique I've heard of and I've read a lot and studied quite a few options. Trying it myself, it seems to act like a big unrestricted breath in and a restricted breath out plus messing about with ones neck which one should be very wary of. My dear chap, its my considered belief that you inspired sleep-apnea > sleep paralysis in yourself (https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/obstructive-sleep-apnoea/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_paralysis) and thus got the very commonly related fearful nightmare experience. https://thesleepdoctor.com/2017/08/24/nightmares-and-things-that-go-bump-in-the-night/ She told you the opposite of what I've been told and read which is never, ever restrict the breath except for some very few, particular and quite advanced intances. exorcist_1699 Posted October 9, 2019 (edited) Most methods of meditation teach people to use their mind to settle their fluctuating minds , so it means they are using more minds , not less minds ; the result is most of them fail . Taoist method is unique , it teaches people to mobilize qi first, then by making use qi to settle their minds. It works because jing-qi-shen is, in fact , some kind of Trinity . Sebastian Posted October 9, 2019 Thanks Exorcist... how would you define the mobilize Qi stage ? The way I view it as this stage is I keep my mind quiet, then the Qi sinks, then the Qi and body are one. Then when I’m absorbed in the body, the thoughts have much less pull on me. To mobilize Qi I do nothing basically. Or I stop doing. When I do, I find the Qi rises to my head. Thanks for your helpful posts

Thanks for your helpful posts Hi Sebastian, thanks your response. "Qi rises to my head " ..,then if your Qi 's quality is further improved , it will grasp your minds ; and the longer it grasps and settles your minds, the better it is . Since your minds is settled, you then start to understand what shen might look likes..; better use shen to upgrade our qi , not use an ordinary everyday mind to do . Just some superficial ideas . 1
