Earl Grey Posted December 15, 2019 (edited) Hmmm I already see the usual names to run away from if saying something stupid and having the audacity to piss them off (which the boor is doing)... so even if I was tagged and quoted by the boor, and my own experience and references that I have can provide some good rebuttals for what the boor said about living abroad and having leftist views... I think I’ll sit back and wait before saying anything else, mostly because it is Sunday. Edited December 15, 2019 by Earl Grey

Ah yes ... but that is just because you are a southafrican ... and you have to go to church today , so God can tell you what to do, so when you get home you can tell your family what to do (even though they where in church too - that doesnt count) . That will keep your Sundie arvo full too - here he is ; ... and STOP having children - fer Gawd's sakes ! ( maybe take on some charity or humanitarian work to keep you distracted )

You have exposed me for being a naughty boy! Am I getting the paddle or the belt today?! Charity or humanitarian work? What is work? Never heard of it, because idle hands are the devil's tool and my hands are controlled by the devil that compels me to post inane things about leftists in capitalist countries know nothing while citing examples that miss the point and hasty generalizations about my own country and displaying my white privilege in a gated community shitting on people in shanty towns! Oh no!

Nungali Posted December 15, 2019 I was teasing ( what me ? ) someone at work - we had a big ethnic mix , and a big mix of nationalities . I said how I was prejudiced against ............ so I am probably a 'racist' and they responded; ' But, they are white , like you ! ' And then Lehi , a huge constantly grinning Maori I had become friends with goes ; " Dr Bacon ! You cant be racist about your own race ! Thats not racism .... thats shame ! "

ilumairen Posted December 15, 2019 21 hours ago, Boerewors said: My question to you is, why are you living in a capitalist country, if socialism and communism is superior? I'd say your actions contradict your ideals. You may perceive it as rude, but at the same time, to live in a capitalist society screaming about how unjust it is, and sitting in a first-world Western country, is a paradox. And as such, I cannot take any "leftist" or commie seriously when their actions contradict their claims, it's a form of hypocrisy, or cowardice. If capitalism was worse than communism, you wouldn't be living in a capitalist society, people from socialist or communist societies would not be trying to get into Western capitalist societies. You can claim differently all you want, but your actions are what I trust, not your words, typed from a capitalist country. I'm from South Africa. I'd like you to come live here, or some other non-capitalist society, and then compare. You see, it's easy to think it works when you don't understand how unions can ruin a country. All of our SOEs, State-owned Enterprises, have been neglected, and run into the ground. Let's take Eskom as an example, our power utility, which employs over 20000 more people than it should, and the CEOs all get massive sign-on and leaving bonuses. There's a thing called load shedding in my country, rolling blackouts, and it can never be fixed for a number of reasons; 1) Unions have too much power, and the ANC won't fire the 20000+ that are nothing but leeches, because they'll lose those 20000+ votes. 2) The people in townships, which are like favelas, don't pay for water or electricity, and owe the municipalities billions, billions every year. Will they be forced to pay? They can't because nobody wants to invest here to create jobs due to the power of unions, corruption, and racist policies. Will they be cut off? No. Instead, we have rolling blackouts, depending on the stage (from 2 hours a day to 12), for both those who pay and those who don't and it'll get even worse. So can you imagine paying a massive amount for your utilities, and then being cut off from it because others don't? It's shit. Zimbabwe, is a great example of what's going to become of South Africa soon. You seem rather self assured, and honestly a bit presumptuous and ill informed. This would be more of a paradox from where I sit than what you tried to place at TM's feet. First point, you site what to me appears to be rather similar to the "rolling black outs" Californians experience. Second point, you reference the power of unions, and unnecessary people on payroll, to which I would suggest looking into the teacher's union in New York, and "paid leave." Dependent on, local, state, and federal taxes we do assist a number of individuals who are unable to support themselves - for whatever reasons. For example, every customer of Wisconsin Public Service pays a small monthly fee to assist those unable to pay, and all business customers pay a larger fee. To the point, residents of Wisconsin are paying for people to have service who wouldn't otherwise be able to afford it, and have no say in it. Some would prefer more social supports, are willing to pay their portion of the cost, and remain hopeful for such niceties as people not being denied medical attention due to lack of insurance (which has rather gone to sh*t in the years I've been working) or inability to pay. At which point we reach nuances I'm not inclined to explore here, especially given I'm not even sure you haven't gotten yourself banned by attacking the owner of this site.

You believe in ideals you never put into practice. You might be the owner of this forum, but that doesn't mean living in a first world country and being a hippy doesn't make you a hypocrite. Why don't you come live in some "leftist" country in Africa for a while, if you can live here for 30 years I can respect your opinion, until then your ideals stems from ignorance, and you're too much of a coward to actually live in a communist or socialist country. Your interaction with other cultures as a tourist and as an expat is much different. Cuba and Venezuela are also waiting for you "Comrade", so is Zimbabwe and South Africa. 4
