Sifu John Dolic's website: http://www.qigongchinesehealth.com/sleeping_qigong

I learned the style with him, so I can endorse its validity. A very fun practice.

Seconded. It is a fantastic skill to have and will change your life when you really understand it--I can not state this with enough emphasis to reflect it.

tom bisio's book

I took a look in Tom Bisio's Sleeping Qigong book finally.

The book seems to introduce authentic Sleeping Qigong that is also genuine Daoist alchemy like it is supposed to. I cannot judge whether the instructions in the book are complete and safe for self-initiation, but I would suppose not.

Almost all the methods in the book instruct connecting to particular kidney points by having sword fingers in the genital area. There are complicated visualizations involving Chinese pictograms.

It seems to depict more ancient variations of the Shuigong practice in contrast to Sifu Dolic's teachings. I suspect that the lineage masters of Shuigong have gradually modified the practice to accomplish the same results with more intuitive and simpler methods.

I would expect the same type of old fashioned training flavors to pop-up in other Sleeping Qigong fragments that you might encounter outside of the proper Shuigong lineage.

@Earl Grey

Would you mind sharing some more about the program?

I read about it online, it seems there's a 9 hour basic course and an 8 hour advanced course after 1 year's practice.

Did you do both?

And of course you don't need to reveal all :'D just the gist of it.

If you are doing sleeping qigong incorrectly, how do you correct yourself? And how would you know if you are not doing it correctly?

I'm looking forward to @Earl Grey and @senseless virtue chiming in with the Dong Fang Shui Gong of John Dolic & Nan Yun :D would love to their thoughts based on their experience with this system.

What I know from Master Wu's sleeping qigong is that as long as your sleep quality is better, that means you're doing it right ;)

That's one of the main things: sleep quantity and sleep quality. The more quality the less quantity you need.

My best experience in retreat was "black out sleep on command". I experienced it 2 times in retreat, and maybe 2 times at home on my own. It takes a long time of dedicated practice, and it also depends on your karma from previous lifetimes how fast the full effects will fructify.

If your karma is good, it's super fast.
