How much unpreparedness up to this point do you think is Trump's fault?

To be honest at this point we just need more time to see how things go.

They cannot lock up everyone endlessly in quarantine. The stop of global economy will cause massive defaults on debts, imagine all your $$$ on bank account becoming just worthless paper only worth to be used in toilet?

There is no guarantee that when quarantine ends in a month or two, that people wont get the virus when they go out of their houses.

That is a truly idiotic response from a man who fancies himself a bit of a deep thinker. You evidently do not understand what the presidency is.

You my friend, could have purchased a case of surgical masks on eBay in preparation for this event.

Why didn't you do that?

In the spring of 2018, the White House pushed Congress to cut funding for disease security programs, proposing to eliminate $252 million in previously committed resources for rebuilding health systems in Ebola-ravaged Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Guinea. Under fire from both sides of the aisle, President Donald Trump dropped the proposal to eliminate Ebola funds a month later. But other White House efforts included reducing $15 billion in national health spending and cutting the global disease-fighting operational budgets of the CDC, NSC, DHS, and HHS. And the government’s $30 million Complex Crises Fund was eliminated.

In May 2018, Trump ordered the NSC’s entire global health security unit shut down, calling for reassignment of Rear Adm. Timothy Ziemer and dissolution of his team inside the agency. The month before, then-White House National Security Advisor John Bolton pressured Ziemer’s DHS counterpart, Tom Bossert, to resign along with his team. Neither the NSC nor DHS epidemic teams have been replaced. The global health section of the CDC was so drastically cut in 2018 that much of its staff was laid off and the number of countries it was working in was reduced from 49 to merely 10. Meanwhile, throughout 2018, the U.S. Agency for International Development and its director, Mark Green, came repeatedly under fire from both the White House and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. And though Congress has so far managed to block Trump administration plans to cut the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps by 40 percent, the disease-fighting cadres have steadily eroded as retiring officers go unreplaced.

Some people don’t have credit cards or live paycheck to paycheck. Some people are still computer illiterate believe it or not.

Victim blaming is the mark of a mediocre being who is unable to gaze beyond the warts on their outstretched arms while gazing into a phone screen. It also denoted a serious level of ignorance worsened again by self-certainty.

You personally, claim to live irresponsibly paycheck to paycheck , you have learned no skill of value , and you claim to be generally incompetent on the computer to the point of not being able to order things on eBay?

Is that correct?

Because if it's not, then asking why you personally did not prepare is still valid.

No, I said other people live with those obstacles.

Evidently, your comprehension skills are atrocious for an armchair intellectual.

Again, Why did you personally not stockpile hand sanitizer?

Living paycheck to paycheck is a feature, not bug, of a system designed to keep many people desperate and easily exploited. And it’s funny how many “unskilled” workers are being recognized as “essential” now.

I know you did a little sleight of hand there ,hiding behind some imaginary misfit to excuse your own behavior.

You see, the hand sanitizer thing only really works if everyone has some. Stockpiling it is dumb.

The fact is the US had ample warning from China, South Korea, Japan, Italy about what was coming and how to prepare. Instead the government decided to dick around and spread misinformation. Shithole country.

The sanitizer, you used , would be a measure to protect yourself and your family, it doesn't require everyone else to do it , the CDC recommend that one continues to do so ,when quarantined in your own home!

You were never told that illnesses would never happen again . You Know that outbreaks happen ,you're just unwilling to take responsibility for your own part in your own circumstance.

I think, you people did not consider such preparations to be worth taking, you simply chose to endure some risk, and to an extent risk the welfare of others... just like we do when driving an automobile.

There is a mysterious void that exists in the space between your ears and in front of your asshole, one of the mysteries of the universe, which makes everyone wonder why you have shit for brains.

If I referred to poor black women in the inner cities, would your assumptions about me still stand?

Here's my assumption about you: your fingers are too goddamned fat to even know how to properly space the commas and periods in your equally atrocious punctuation and run-on sentences.

Vapid.

@Stosh, I'ma add to that, let you chew on your stupidity for an extra minute while you percolate in your stale breath in your little protective face diaper:

The financial transactions upon which eBay relies, the internet itself, the electricity upon which it and your computer run, the reasonable expectation that in a first world country you can buy masks they are not fake and which perform as promised, the technology in your computer, the postal service, the roads and airways through which your precious purchase reach you...

NONE of these things works without a functioning executive branch.

And you know this--and I know that you know that I know deep down you know this--even as your are already thinking up the next snide little half-assed deflection that you will try to tell yourself counts as an intelligent riposte.

Don't be one of those crackers who drives along in a car he can't repair with a fat belly full of food he can't grow on a road the government built listening to Rush Limbaugh and slamming the steering wheel as he praises himself for being a self made man.

And if those masks you got off eBay turn out to be useless fakes, oh well, you should have audited the factory and managed QC yourself. After all, anything less is clearly pathetic reliance on a nanny state.

Shitbird.

I have plenty of hand sanitizer.  Four out of seven of my immediate family members are in the medical field including RNs and an intern who will be a fully authorized physician in about one year.

I am well prepared. But “I’ve got mine, fuck everyone else” is the attitude of a stunted caricature of a human being.

Do you not understand what a presidency is?

What part of your post answered the question I asked?

The federal government was not considered to have the role of disaster eliminator at all until the 1920s.

Funding bills are written by congress.

Funding for the CDC rose under Trump.

And just how the heck can I be the man baby, if it's you people tossing insults left and right, while I coolly move beyond.

Giving a shit about other people only equals heroism in libertarian shitlordland. When the God Emperor Sean returns in glory, on a chariot pulled by qilin and escorted by legions of angels, nagas, and pikachu, he shall cast thee into the pit of burning scrotums for incalculable kalpas. Maranatha.
