Daoist_Immortal Posted April 18, 2020 Hello Predecessors, How was your day? I am new here and I was advised to join here by one of the reddit users, if ever I have any questions in my qigong practice. I am a 25 year male from South East Asia. I started practicing qigong just this March, when the Corona Virus Outbreak started. I have a very sickly body and I love reading wuxia novels and that made me push on practicing qigong. But of course, I am not expecting like anything that happens in a wuxia novel to happen in real life, I just want to strengthen my body. I started with Yi Jin Jing, following the YT Video of Master Shi Yan Hui, but I have to stop after 2 weeks because I feel so anemic. Believe me, it does helped me to clear up some emotional blockages, like, I experienced everyday that some of my memories and regrets passes through the back of my mind and my heart aches, then I just strengthen my breathing just to let it flow out of my body. I think that's one of my challenges in doing Yi Jin Jing but my body cant handle the 50 mins routine that's why I have to stop. Upon my research, I bumped to Ms. Marissa's Yoqi Yoga and Qigong channel and followed her Purging and Tonifying routine to Purge my bad qi and blockages and also to Tone my internal qi before I proceed to Qi Circulation. I just don't know until when should I practice purging and tonifying but upon observing my body, I think I am still in the process of Purging blockages, since I am experiencing right now a lot (barfing/farting during the practice, defecating twice a day, old injuries are getting painful again, skin rashes etc.), but I feel better once all of the mentioned passes. I just don't know where to go afterwards. I also practice it twice a day. I wake up at 6am and take a bath first thing in the morning, wait for an hour and practice the routine, and same routine in the afternoon at 3 pm, I take my bath then wait for an hour to practice the same routine before the day ends. Hope everyone can enlighten me on my journey.
Welcomer Posted May 19, 2020 Welcome to the Dao Bums. A wonderful forum to learn, discuss and cultivate. Below are 3 important sections: Our Rules, The Insult Policy and our 3 Foundations. Before you join give them a read. Most of it boils down to being respectful. No name calling or trolling. Post as if your mom's looking over your shoulder. Discussion and arguments are what the board is about. Keep it civil, don't get personal. Don't be a troll or one issue zealot. We're here for good conversation and make some friend along the way, to be a community. Jump right in, start threads asking questions, look for interesting threads and post your (relevant) thoughts. For the first week you will be restricted to ten posts per day but after that you can post as much as you like. Also, until you’ve posted fifteen times in the forums, you’ll be a “Junior Bum” with somewhat restricted access and will be allowed only two private messages per day. Good luck in your pursuits and best wishes to you, Michael and the TDB team Read and review Our Rules: Our Insult Policy- Read it, Live it TheDaoBums' Three Foundations: Eclectic, Egalitarian, Civil. Welcome aboard. Your practice sounds pretty tough to me. It takes awhile to build up long standing times and routines. Often people start at 10 or 15 minutes and build up slowly. Training is a marathon. I think you'll find lots of people to discuss it with here.
