ralis Posted April 28, 2020 Just the regular old flu? Wrong, wrong and wrong!
Zork Posted April 28, 2020 Toni there are many things wrong with his train of thought. First of all, he is making comparisons between different things. He is taking into account the deaths caused by flu throughout the season while his Covid19 statistics are relevant up to March. Plus some measures were taken for Covid even in Sweden while flu had no measures taken at all. He doesn't take all these into account. Second, he is comparing Norway to Sweden. Try comparing Sweden to Greece (similar population) and see what happens..... Why doesn't he compare Greece and Italy which in some places, have comparable genetics? He picked an example that shows his point while excluding the one that makes his points completely moot. Third, it is too early to tell whether the measures were needed or not. The virus is still ongoing and the epidemic hasn't stopped to take everything into account. He also ignores the chance that the virus mutates into a more virulent form. Fourth, he says that 90%+ of people recover. Sure but they all needed available ICUs which are not a given during a full fledged epidemic. Italy has this problem in prominence. There were no available ICUs at some point so the death toll was significantly larger than it should be. Are some measures too strict? Sure but this doesn't make the pandemic a hoax!
Master Logray Posted April 28, 2020 Flu is just a name. Virus don't have to kill directly. This virus has a death rate 10 times more than Flu. The medical system is overwhelmed. Medics are killed. Other patients died. No country can ignore it and treats it as common flu.
Zhongyongdaoist Posted April 29, 2020 (edited) I don't usually watch videos, they are usually sources of worthless sound bytes rather than good data and analysis. I did watch parts of the first video which was still up, and found it pretty worthless and not worth the time to take notes on and come here do a real criticism of it. This is what happened to the second video, which also apparently includes Dr. Erickson from the first, is listed as not available for violating Youtube terms of service: Dubious coronavirus claims by California doctors condemned by health experts Quote The video also prompted the American College of Emergency Physicians and American Academy of Emergency Medicine to issue a forceful joint statement on Monday calling the pair's claims "reckless and untested musings" that "are inconsistent with current science and epidemiology regarding COVID-19." "As owners of local urgent care clinics, it appears these two individuals are releasing biased, non-peer reviewed data to advance their personal financial interests without regard for the public's health," the statement read, "COVID-19 misinformation is widespread and dangerous. Members of ACEP and AAEM are first-hand witnesses to the human toll that COVID-19 is taking on our communities. ACEP and AAEM strongly advise against using any statements of Drs. Erickson and Massihi as a basis for policy and decision making." Health officials in Kern County, where Bakersfield is located, also said they disagreed with the claims made by Erickson and Massihi. "In our ongoing effort to mitigate the impacts of COVID-19 on our residents and healthcare system, we continue to adhere to the guidance issued by Governor Newsom regarding the stay at home order," a Kern County health official said in a statement to CNN. This should settle the matter except for people who believe that anyone who disagrees with them is a scammer. ZYD Edit: added more to the quote. Toni Posted April 29, 2020 Why do u believe the "experts"?
SirPalomides Posted April 29, 2020 If you don't trust expertise then why bother posting views offered by "American doctors"? Wouldn't American insurance salesmen, catsitters, or butt-waxers equally qualify? Why, I dare say they are even more qualified because their lack of pretensions to medical expertise, and their avoidance of years of education pernicious indoctrination in medical school mass deception programming centers, recommend them as pure specimens of omniscient non-expertise! Bring on the butt-waxers, I say!
ralis Posted April 29, 2020 The two doctors in the video are the new darlings on Fox News.
