Sanity Check Posted June 15, 2020 Hi. Someone told me about mantak chia's micro cosmic orbit years ago. Recently I began reading his books. I don't currently meditate or follow a routine intended to develop the energy body or learn "chi" techniques. My interest atm is to satisfy my curiosity and learn about the conceptual and abstract side of things. Are there good resources for reading about inner alchemy or similar topics from a fundamental point of view? I'm aware its mostly a closed society in the way chinese discouraged the teaching of martial arts to non chinese prior to Bruce Lee. But hey still worth a try, am I right?
Welcomer Posted June 15, 2020 Welcome to the Tao Bums. A wonderful forum to learn, discuss and cultivate. Below are 3 important sections: Our Rules, The Insult Policy and our 3 Foundations. Before you join click on [Reveal hidden contents] give them a read. Most of it boils down to being respectful. No name calling or trolling. Post as if your mom's looking over your shoulder. Discussion and arguments are what the board is about. Keep it civil, don't get personal. Don't be a troll or one issue zealot. We're here for good conversation and make some friend along the way, to be a community. Jump right in, start threads asking questions, look for interesting threads and post your (relevant) thoughts. For the first week you will be restricted to ten posts per day but after that you can post as much as you like. Also, until you’ve posted fifteen times in the forums, you’ll be a “Junior Bum” with somewhat restricted access and will be allowed only two private messages per day. Welcome to the Dao Bums. Many people here started out with Mantak Chia. I did. His work is not without controversies though. Speaking of MCO, Damo Mitchell has a free MCO course that goes deeply into it. You may want to check it out. A couple people on board will be trying it and hopefully writing up there experiences. Michael and the TDB team Read and review Our Rules: Our Insult Policy- Read it, Live it TheDaoBums' Three Foundations: Eclectic, Egalitarian, Civil.
