thelerner Posted July 21, 2022 (edited) Here's a definitive site for awesome flowers. From Hookers Lips to Ballerinas. https://www.boredpanda.com/flowers-look-like-animals-people-monkeys-orchids-pareidolia/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=organic  While some objects are guided by our imagination, I can't help thinking some of the bird shapes might be evolutionarily helpful to the plant.  And then there's Georgia O'keefe who swore up and down her flowers were not erotic or sexual.    Georgia O'Keeffe, Red Canna, 1924   Edited July 21, 2022 by thelerner

Nungali Posted October 20, 2022 Lithops ?  Mine got huge !     I didnt think cacti would grow in a rainforest .... rot or something ?  Nope . I asked the 'Cactus Man' whats up and he said 'The more rain they get the bigger they get . '  And they change form and look different , desert cacti are the gnarly old dry survivors .  My favourite one looks like a stone ( lith - op ;   λίθος 'stone' and ὄψ 'face' ) but once a year puts out a long spike and unfolds a series of red 'Japanese lanterns ' (flowers ) from big ones at the base getting smaller in size to tiny ones at the tip .  Flower in the shape of a woman - plant in the shape of a stone :
