tumoessence Posted May 27, 2010 I would like to let everyone know about the release of my teacher's new book on tai chi practice. Master Hwa practices and teaches from the Wu Chien Chuan lineage of Young Wabu. His website is classiscal taichi and the book can be found at Uncovering the Treasure  I share this link with enthusiasm because of every good reason to promote great tai chi practrice, but also and maybe mostly because this teacher is such a great and generous resource and a true human being and therefore embodies much of what Taoists strive for. This way is largely understated, the moves small and not flashy, but the effects of its practice are enormous. The teacher is an image of this way, and is not promoting himself but the joy of practice and is there for his students.

Ulises Posted October 22, 2010 3 great audio interviews about Shaking Medicine:  http://www.podfeed.net/episode/EPISODE+259+-+The+Bushman+Way+of+Tracking+God/2764633  http://arewelistening.net/podcasts/BradfordKeeney_2010_9_28.mp3  http://www.futureprimitive.org/2008/05/shaking-up-bradford-keeney-phd/  ...and this one: "This connection with the life force is something that we've forgotten. It's become dormant. If you look at an ancient ritual and try to copy it, it may be rather silly. But if you see that underneath it there's a body that pulses and moves in rhythm to the life force, there we can pull away some basic principles, some ways of opening ourselves. Its form may be different to us; in fact, it's appropriate that it be different. Let me go on and say that every elder I've spoken with would agree that however the form of ritual, whatever you need to do to make access to spirit or to the life force, it's appropriate that you find it in your own way. It will come on its own accord ... like a musician has to eventually find his or her own style." http://www.lightworks.com/MonthlyAspectarian/1997/September/0997-08.html     Spontaneous Movement: a fascinating article by a transpersonal psychologist with experience. humbleone Posted February 18, 2012 kundalini yoga dance workout   Its hard to top the kundalini yoga dance workout, but just wanted to mention that the documentary 'A ZEN LIFE' about D T Suzuki is now available via Netflix. I watched it last night.  He had a hard early life, his father passed away when he was six. He grew up in extreme poverty, his mother was then too poor to send him to school, D T Suzuki taught himself English and then in his teenage years taught English at a middle school to earn money. His mother passed away when he was twenty. His brother died when ten. This adversity forced him towards Zen and we all benefied as a result.  This little man, single handedly brought Zen to the West. Just amazing!  http://www.azenlife-film.org/dvd.htm

Thunder_Gooch Posted April 10, 2012 (edited) I made this for you guys.  It should be small enough to fit on a standard CD-R if you wish to burn it to disk.  I was googleing some sounds and found some hour long mp3's of ocean waves and tibetian singing bowls and use a program to mix the two together.  I realllllly like it a lot, like better than other professional meditation programs.  This contains no binaural beats or anything else, it's just singing bowls and ocean waves.  It is a huge file as I tried to preserve audio quality, it's a 320kbps mp3 and over an hour in length.  I am trying not to eat my server's bandwidth up, so here is a mirror:   http://www.uberg33k.org/Meditation-MP3.zip  and a free hosting mirror:  http://www.filefactory.com/file/42qep1j16wgf/n/Meditation_mp3  I hope you guys find it useful Edited April 11, 2012 by More_Pie_Guy

Desert Eagle Posted April 16, 2012 (edited) The animal frolics are the origin of Taiji movement http://massagepostureandmovement.com/taiji.html  i was searching for five animal frolics, simple repetitive shamanic movements.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uvj-PNw_cxw     german language  spanish  Edited April 18, 2012 by Desert Eagle
zerostao Posted April 16, 2012 i was searching for five animal frolics, simple repetitive shamanic movements then I found this more in-depth video about a related system, it has 16 reviews on amazon, all 5 stars:  http://www.youtube.c...h?v=Uvj-PNw_cxw   as for the frolics AKA Wu Qin Xi here are a few, note there is an overlap with similar qigong systems that have the same name:     german language  spanish    yep, i have the Dr. Yang Jwing-Ming dvd and i always like anything by Dr. Yang. my friend lazy cloud and his teacher and teacher's teacher etc, have a 5 animal frolics far more complete than i have seen elsewhere. there is a live set of the 5 animals, then a dead set , then a spirit set , and the original hwa t'o posture too. and lazy cloud's set is the same 5 animals that Dr. Yang illustrates. of course there are other 5 animal sets with different animals. there is a standardized set. like lazy cloud will say, zerostao will never give him undue credit. in this case his school has the top shelf goods. at one time i thought that with the hwa t'o and xingyiquan would be the path i took. and it woulda been a great choice. if someone needs some great health and a medical qigong, this one should be considered. excellent for the lymph systems.
