Taoist Texts Posted November 14, 2022 Quote @steveHow definitive is the assertion that all neidan has come to the west and modern China through the Wu-Liu teachings? Since you are in neidan you will know these two books, only through which the west first learned about neidan back in the previous century: https://www.amazon.com/Taoist-Yoga-Kuan-Charles-Luk/dp/0877280673 and https://www.amazon.com/Secret-Golden-Flower-Chinese-Book/dp/0156799804 The first one is directly WL and the second one was disseminated in china as a part of the WL corpus Quote Are there resources in English on the topic I can access that you know of? Are you familiar with the Kunlun Xian Zong Pai (崑崙仙宗) as popularized by Liu Peizhong in Taiwan? There is a little bit on the history of the Kunlun Xian Zong Pai here: Daoism in the Twentieth Century Between Eternity and Modernity Edited by David A. Palmer and Xun Liu University of California Press https://escholarship.org/content/qt13w4k8d4/qt13w4k8d4_noSplash_8e98d381b968a669408d84dbcf68a8a9.pdf?t=lyu9kg and here is your WL connection Quote ...we were given orally by a Taoist in Taiwan, Liu Peizhong 劉培中 , who claimed to be an adept of the Wu-Liu School...p. 140 Catherine Despeux, Taoism and Self Knowledge: The Chart for the Cultivation of Perfection (Xiuzhen tu) Bulletin of the School of Oriental and African Studies https://dokumen.pub/qdownload/taoism-and-self-knowledge-the-chart-for-the-cultivation-of-perfection-xiuzhen-tu-900438345x-9789004383456.html 2

The techniques I learned from my teacher are quite a bit different from the books but of course there are some similarities. Lots of good info about modern and recent Daoist practice. I'm slowly working through it. Thanks Quote and here is your WL connection ...we were given orally by a Taoist in Taiwan, Liu Peizhong 劉培中 , who claimed to be an adept of the Wu-Liu School...p. 140 Catherine Despeux, Taoism and Self Knowledge: The Chart for the Cultivation of Perfection (Xiuzhen tu) Bulletin of the School of Oriental and African Studies https://dokumen.pub/qdownload/taoism-and-self-knowledge-the-chart-for-the-cultivation-of-perfection-xiuzhen-tu-900438345x-9789004383456.html Very interesting find! Thank you for sharing that. If you come across additional references that shed light on Liu Peizhong and the Kunlun Xian Zong Pai, please consider sharing here. I will as well. I've come across a few references here and there but they're scarce, in English at least. 1

doc benway Posted November 16, 2022 Thanks for the link, I’ve seen that film but my Chinese comprehension is too limited to make the most of it.
doc benway Posted November 16, 2022 Here is something that mentions him but offers limited info - http://www.godsdirectcontact.org.tw/eng/news/41/mp.html I’ve also come across a brief reference in Keith Stevens "Chinese Gods: The Unseen World of Spirits and Demons.” It mentions he was master of Kunlun Xianzong and brought it from Shandong. I also found this figurine of Liu Peizhong that was sold at auction:
doc benway Posted January 14, 2023 @Taoist Texts I recently came across the book Taoist Chanting and Recitation by Stuart Alve Olson. It contains a variety of chants and recommendations for daily practice that the author received from his teacher TT Liang, who in turn received them from Liu Peizhong. The liturgical sources are said to come from The Highest Treasury of Truth Scripture of the Quan Zhen sect and attributed to Lu Dongbin. It contains a number of other scriptures as well and Olson's translation of the Dao De Jing. I've just started to look through and like what I see so thought I'd mention it here for anyone interested in resources associated with Liu Peizhong, Dragon Gate, or Complete Reality traditions.

Shubin Posted April 18 I did not know there is a Kunlun Xian Zong Pai (崑崙仙宗), at lease in mainland of China。 Their website has a lineage but it did mention anything about Wu-Liu School.
