與世無爭 - Keep aloof from the world 

Describes a person who is indifferent and has no disputes with the world .

 

E.g. 

After Tao Yuanming * resigned from office,

he lived in seclusion in the countryside and lived a life without competing with the world. 

 

與 yǔ - to be on good terms with each other

世  shì - from generation to generation 

無 wú - not 

爭 zhēng - compete; struggle; dispute

Typically, admirable good habits (morality, eating and qigong) will make a person much healthier in their 70ish. Enjoy. But unfortunately somewhere in your 80ish it stops making a difference and all of us rapidly decline towards death.

Just as well I have a bad sense of humor . 

 

 

I had to do that once .  In an Aboriginal ceremony .  They 'paint up ' by dipping a casurina branch ( a pine tree with very fine soft 'needles' ) in  watery  white clay and lightly lash it up and down your legs, arms and torso , leaving a fine white pattern of  horizontal lines .  After they did me ;  " We cant see 'em, this fellah to white , they dont stand out ."  (much laughter ) .

 

Then one bright spark ;  " We gotta make him black first . "  So they mixed up some charcoal from the fire with some other goop and smeared black all over me and then painted me  with the  white designs over that .   They seemed to  have a lot of fun doing that , made a few jokes , so I offered  ; ' What's with that ?   Whitefellah lie on beach all day trying to go brown , Blackfellah does a ceremony but paints himself white first ? "
