Apotheose Posted February 4 I think this thread will be fun Which user(s) of ‘The Dao Bums’ Forum is/are/was/were the most sensible, reasonable, clear-sighted and wise, in your opinion? I’ve been around for one month as an user — and before creating an account I had been reading content from the forum for another one month. During these two months I’ve read quite a lot of new and old threads… Personally, the users who made me the most impressed and thrilled by their inspiration with words and wisdom are @Small Fur and @manitou

liminal_luke Posted February 5 (edited) The forum is like a spicy Thai curry with lots of balanced flavors. Some bums are a little sweet, some bursting with savory umami goodness, and yes, a few are a tad bitter. But it's the combination -- how we all come together -- that really make the dish. Most of us aren't the smartest or the funniest or the most spiritually advanced, but chances are we've got a little somethin' somethin' to contribute -- and that's enough. blue eyed snake Posted February 6 hm, this reminds me of the time I lived in a city and regularly had junks at the door, asking for a tenner. Never gave em money but handed out a sandwich and a drink, milk or tea, whatever they wanted.

It's been my observation that most people embody the idiom "penny wise and pound foolish." Not so much in money matters as in general. I believe what wisdom is is being able to tell pennies from pounds. To know when to focus on details and when to notice and analyze the bigger picture. When to watch cat videos and when to slay demons. 1
