So we are in total agreement:

Never anthropomorphise individuals of another species, you’ll end up getting eaten by your ‘friend’.

Hmm … me thinks all those stories you posted, one couldn’t make it up if one wanted to, and those would have taken a lifetime.

Maybe not universally unpopular (overwhelmingly popular infact), but it will piss our dear Nungali off: I belive Christ has some of the most powerful quotes in excistence.

Why would I be pissed off ?

After all I am a young shapely woman born again Christian now .

How's that for the transformative 'power of Christ '  !

Point is: I like Christ if we separate him from the dogma of biblical Christianity. Happy?

I totally anthropomorphize everything  .... even a chainsaw , and after doing that I got it to work when no one else could (no, I didnt pull it apart or put fuel into it )  .... I talked nicely and reasonable to it and asked it to start for me .

What about my animal friends that are vegos and dont eat meat , they aint gonna eat me . and what about ... this that and the other thing ?

I am sure he ripped that off a science fiction writer .

He didn't, he did something I really like instead: changed and reinterpreted a famous quote in a quirky way.  The lexicological term for this kind of stuff is "stylistic deformation of phraseological units." (I once had to write a term paper on this literary device and have been collecting examples ever since.)

I wonder what he means by  " sufficiently advanced magic  "  ?

Then again, any magic uses 'magical technology'  ;)

I think he may have studied (and used?..) what was known in the West as "natural magic" for the first 700 years of the last millennium.  It was, indeed, a technology like any other, in that you proposed a theory first (e.g. of signatures/correspondences, astrological phenomena, "Great Chain of Being" meaningfully connecting everything to everything and everything to the creator, etc. ) and then tested it empirically to find out what works and how to make it work its, ahem, magic.  The later advances of science were 100% dependent on plundering the empirical methods of natural magic practitioners -- and, as these things are usually done, proceeded to marginalize, ridicule, and ultimately negate exactly the disciplines and methods they were stealing from.

That they would also throw the baby out with bathwater was inevitable.  Thieves often grab the flashy trinkets and overlook the secret hiding places where the real treasures are stored away from prying eyes and sticky fingers.

Yes, science cleared up all that hocus pocus , mysterious and silly named things... even things influencing other things with no material connections or influences !

Now we understand how everything works , including one particle being in two places at once, except it isnt ,  mass less 'particles' , quark charges with 'colour' and 'charm' .....

it enough to put your head in a 'top spin  '     ;)

What a shame .... all tat work I did collating the 3:4 cosmos !   :( *     There are no longer 4 fundamental forces with 3 linked and the 4th somehow ( ? ) related ..... we got  4 new 'things' ... with the first 3 linked and the the 4th  ......   :)  Oh yeah and the 3 fundamental (smallest ) particles of the atom got  thrown out too ... we got new ones ..... 3 of them .   And quarks ?   Well, guess what ?
