Thrice Daily Posted December 6 Hello again, in the true spirit of being Thrice Daily, I’ve decided to start a 3rd thread to be active on, on the regular… It really could be a good long lasting one , should you Daobums be willing to share. But whether you’re a hidden master, a Qigong maverick or a slick beginner, I’m sure you got a gem or two to share… Some ideas tower your whistle. Focus Points what you’ve noticed works how it’s changed? What are your mainstays? What do you wish you knew at the start? What made biggest difference when you added it? What change could you recommend to make a difference? What surprised you the most? What benefits surprised you? oh I’m sure I could keep going with questions but I bet you have your unique perspectives on the history, sunburst, practice of Qigong. Would love to know you’re thoughts, especially you older Masters. Audio Recordings and videos from other masters too. Maybe you saved some as they were such great gems…. Share the links if you have great interviews of old masters, old video and audio. The older the better. Let’s make this a long lasting and quality thread , that can become a stand alone resource for us, and serious students approaching these precious approaches to health, wealth and longevity… Greeting to you Qigong Brothers and Sisters… Lets dig into the archives and see what we can bring to light💡 🙏
Thrice Daily Posted December 6 I'll kick things off with this rather old looking master I found whilst researching ,,, The "Sleeping Immortal Exercises" in Chinese is known as 睡仙功 (Shuì Xiān Gōng), which translates literally to "Sleeping Immortal Skill." This name reflects the meditative and health-focused nature of the practice, often attributed to Taoist traditions and masters such as Chen Tuan (陈抟). Chen was a Sage from way back in the day, we are talking 871–989 CE, Known for early work in Wudang... Well I found Nothing searching for "Sleeping Immortal Exercises" , after looking a little closer... I found this... I'm going to try and find time to pay close attention to this, his stuff is the absolute Mustard. IMFO
Thrice Daily Posted December 7 I’d like to share one general tip about sleeping. Without going too deep… Its just a simple technique I’ve found that doesn’t seek to quiet an active mind. But rather redirect it for a very specific and beneficial process. You that moment your head hits the pillow and the mind can jump from thing to thing.. stuff you gotta do, stuff that happened today, stuff you didn’t do, people, places , memories etc. Well I’ve been practicing something for a while that totally switched this off. It does take a bit of wilful concentration but that’s the lot… When my head hits the pillow, I’ll (almost instantly) say the words Thank You, then I follow those words with a thing… I still allow the mental chatter, but at the start of every sentence of internal dialogue, I simply say the word Thankyou. it’s perfect, if you’ve got no time to journal or practice gratitude (well if you feel you haven’t, like me) it’s a perfect remedy for that. No lost time,,, massive benefits … It gets really interesting too. I bet you fall asleep before you know it…

How much does it matter? If you wear, what do you wear? Practicing barefoot on a natural surface is slightly more beneficial than with footwear. However if it’s cold it’s better to wear footwear to keep your feet warm and to stop the cold entering your body through your feet
