Greetings, I am Alfigar, nice to meet you all! I've discovered Daobums through google search about several key topics that interested me: Red/Folk Daoism, Neidan, chinese and daoist sorcery, etc.

I am from a very niche afro-diasporic religion and my key interests lies on fields that could broaden my horizons, both in a theoretical and practical sense: philosophy, theology, occultism, magic, alchemy and such

Thus, I've been drawn to certain strands of esoteric daoism such as Mao Shan and other types of folk daoism. Qi Gong, Nei Gong and Nei Dan are also areas that interest me a lot, because I can see it could benefit my religious practice.

Besides that, I enjoy studying western ancient/medieval occultism, late antique religions, hermeticism, theurgy, astrology, etc.

Anyway, again, it's nice to meet you guys and have a good day!

Greetings Alfigar . Would you care to share which 'Afro-diasporic religion'  ?  .  I have some interest and experience in Voudon  and  have read a little on Yoruba .

I too have a theoretical and practical background , mostly under the umbrella of anthropology .  I studied Comparative Religion , theology (years ago with that one ) , occultism, magic  and alchemy (  I worked in the agricultural field , professionally , with alchemy )

No real experience with the eastern forms of these, but there are plenty of people here that have .

That too  :)    but not too much ancient forms - I am more of a 'Neo-Hermeticist '  ( which goes into philosophy and physics ), 'antique religions'  like early Zoroastrianism  and , even some un-named  ( eg. the central Asian pre-cursor to Bon ) and of course astrology .
