Taiji Bum Posted June 25, 2008 I am looking for pictures of what the Taoists call the "Dragon Gate". Please leave links so I can continue my research please. This is just my crude drawing of my version. http://www.flickr.com/photos/drs2biz/74370971/ Thats where I found it. Eva Wongs book has what I believe to be the dragon gate or at least a dragon in a swastika shape.
nightwatchdog Posted June 26, 2008 (edited) The original Dragon Gate is a holy Taoist site on the Yellow river. It is said that if a carp can ascend the waterfall it becomes a dragon. Do you see any? Edited June 26, 2008 by nightwatchdog

Taiji Bum Posted June 28, 2008 Ooops.... the Dragon Gate might not be the swastika. Thats just my idea. I am looking for ANY pictures of what others call the Dragon Gate.
Xienkula1 Posted June 28, 2008 Ooops.... the Dragon Gate might not be the swastika. Thats just my idea. I am looking for ANY pictures of what others call the Dragon Gate. The thing is that your swastika is angular or runic and divides the circles edge in such a way as to make a pakua. 8x8x8 Dimensions.
Taiji Bum Posted June 28, 2008 (edited) The thing is that your swastika is angular or runic and divides the circles edge in such a way as to make a pakua. 8x8x8 Dimensions. It looks that way because I did it in "microsoft draw". In reality it had rounded edges but was also crystaline in appearence and spinning. It had a rainbow hue all around it too. My drawing of what I think the dragon gate is the same as if I tried to draw a person.... you'd get a stick figure. I'm just not an artist. rain Posted June 28, 2008 what are the historic dates of all these findings? I found a geometric figure from Sweden in one of my books that is both yinyang and a suncross/swastika dated approx 2000 BC. geometric doesnt necessarily mean edgy. sorry still no dragon gate pic. but your initial pic gets me going. Brian L. Kennedy Posted June 29, 2008 Dragon's Gate is the name of a Daoist sect and the name of a place. If you want to see a picture of the place I typed in (in Chinese) dragons gate and here is a typical China tourism page on it. Look where it says Lung Men (i.e. the top picture) http://www.chinaorg.cn/whyl/06_whyc/2007-0...ent_5004890.htm Take care, Brian

Sunya Posted June 29, 2008 (edited) And buddhism & Hinduism took that symbol from Bonpo.. prove it. gonna throw Atlantis in there? Bonpo is just a shamanic tradition, why do you give it so much credit when theres no evidence for it Edited June 29, 2008 by mikaelz

All traditions are just shamanic traditions! ... at the roots if one goes back far enough! ? So why wouldn't you give credit? It's basically a bunch of shallow caves, rooms & reliefs carved into a long hillside cliff. All the iconography is basically Buddhist though. I would think Jesse's explanation is likely more correct with connection to the Taoist Longmen Pai, then. Very interesting. I still would like to study with him in China sometime, but just ran out of vacation time this year...

Sunya Posted June 30, 2008 Um, think about it! All traditions are just shamanic traditions! ... at the roots if one goes back far enough! ? So why wouldn't you give credit? no. not all traditions are just shamanic. by shamanic i mean purely psychic, doesn't go beyond that into non-duality. and why wouldn't you give credit? because theres no evidence for it as far as I know. speculation isn't evidence.
