beancurdturtle Posted July 4, 2008 Interesting translation. His actual words are simple and more base than the translation. Even with my very poor Chinese I can pick that up. A temple is a place where the tired visitor can get some ?? (jia you) - which literally means "add oil" or "refuel," and in common use "jia you" is an "attaboy." It's what you say to cheer up and cheer on someone who may be lagging a bit. But it's pretty common for people to inject divine meaning into simple things.
