Can anyone recommend any witchcraft / western magic books?

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for readable, entertaining and maybe "intermediate" level at this point.

I recommend reading any book by Lon Milo Duqette, he is a author that writes with humor and cuts through the mumbojumbo, a great start.

I also recomend Modern Magick by Donald Michael Kraig that xienkula mentioned.

Otherwise a good place to go to is http://www.occultofpersonality.com/. A radio program that dwells into mostly the western esoteric subjects, but also touches on eastern traditions.

And for children this might be more appropriate Witches & Magic Makers

There is a new book by Marsh , The Mentalists Handbook, very refreshing, but otherwise I second the Bardon references.

have you money why not buy this one to your child?:

The Tales of Beedle the Bard, Collector's Edition (Offered Exclusively by Amazon) (Hardcover)

by J. K. Rowling

http://www.amazon.com/Beedle-Collectors-Of...2015&sr=1-7

But for those that want really deep information about western witchcraft this is the best one for now i belive:

Encyclopedia of Witchcraft: The Western Tradition (Library Binding)

by Richard Golden

http://www.amazon.com/Encyclopedia-Witchcr...0893&sr=1-2

but the thing is these books are so expensive

Out of the western stuff I recommend Chaos Magick over anything else, if you want to use magick to get practical results. Franz Bardon has good insights that are in line with those of people who seek enlightenment. In other words, if you want to use magick for the purpose of self-knowledge, then I would recommend Franz's writings. If you want results and getting things done, then Chaos Magick.

I realize chaos magick is not a book, but if you punch it into amazon, you'll get your books. Further, there is a lot of decent free chaos magick material on the web.

Oh yea, also Castaneda's books on nagualism are great. Technically South and North America are "western" right? I don't know! :) West of what I guess is the question?
