abramelin Posted August 5, 2008 How much should you share about your own experiences? There is a question sure many of you have thought of on your path. For my self i have found it helpful to read about personal stories about experiences that people have gone through. But why do I( my ego?) keep me from sharing experiences that might aid me and fellow seekers from more knowledge along the path. Sure there is a lot of anecdotes of "weird" stuff that happens but one is not inclined tho share this with others. I know that many of you here on the forum are very open about your experimentation and experiences gained through that, but there is always that boundary about how mush one should share on a open forum such as this. What is your thoughts about the subject of sharing experiences on a open forum such as this? Live long and prosper// john
findley Posted August 5, 2008 I asked myself the same thing, because I talk about my own masturbation alot, as a spiritual practice. I have never been ridiculed. I don't think anyone is offended. But really, it is whatever you are comfortable with. The only limitation is yourself.
abramelin Posted August 5, 2008 I asked myself the same thing, because I talk about my own masturbation alot, as a spiritual practice. Interesting about that you mention masturbation as a subject, as this subject came up today as I was buying some incense. The store owner and i were talking about the cultural thing with circumcision, and i felt a little bit embarrassed about the subject due to that i believe that it is a mean to make people masturbate less. But humor cures alot of silly preconceptions about many subjets. //john
Spectrum Posted August 5, 2008 mb to "circulate" is like saying your watering the grass then filling up the bathtub instead of turning on the outside sprinkler. The relationship you have between wei dan (moving forms) and nei dan (still forms) release, accumulate, circulate and balance. wrap your hand around your practice and your practice will wrap around your hand. coyote Posted August 5, 2008 I would be more open if this forum was not accessible on google by non-members. I think that should be blocked. Anybody randomly searching on google can peer in hear, i think that is wrong.

Mal Posted August 6, 2008 I was told you should never post anything on the net that you would be embarrassed to see on the front page of a newspaper with your name attached in large letters The sex stuff is the one that usually worries people. Not because they themselves are that embarrassed by it, but our society is not very open to such discussions. When I access TB's from work I'm also a bit careful about the threads I read as we are not allowed to download pornographic or sexually explicit material. As for the Goggle search, the personal practice forums are slightly more private as you have to log in to get access, not that that is that difficult. and Patrick Brown you have a great collection of cool images interestingly for some reason I don't like your avatar, (look very smug to me) took me a few weeks to "get over it"
Fire Dragon Posted August 6, 2008 Hello Interesting question. I feel sometimes I have chared to much on open forums, beacase some people realy have the ability to recognice me as the real me in the real reality. But on the other hand I not see it as a big problem. I am unsertain about this and have no strict rules about it. Of course to talk about yourself is your own business and everybody have to judge for themselves. To be open about personal things on the forum makes it also more interesting to read. To talka about others is of course another question! I have no clear thought on this jet! F D

shontonga Posted August 8, 2008 1:08 1:47 3:33 " We're Sorry, This Video Is No Longer Available?" ? Think i tell to much on an open forum? ... in hopes others will tell of themselves. Like to hear about others lives, what they are experiencing, learning, loving! The ways they find spirituality in their own lives. How they connect with life day to day. Figure I'm an open book kind of person, over all? Funny, am actually very quiet in person ! Shy? Maybe I get it all out on the computer! Very Few things that I won't talk openly about . Though? Admit some of the openness on here has made me blush! and Not Reply! LOL Peace! Shon
Patrick Brown Posted August 8, 2008 and Patrick Brown you have a great collection of cool images interestingly for some reason I don't like your avatar, (look very smug to me) took me a few weeks to "get over it" Sorry if it was a problem although I simply see it as a beautiful piece of art. A very gentle and beautiful depiction of Krishna (well I think it's Krishna): I was going to use this image:

Mal Posted August 9, 2008 Sorry if it was a problem although I simply see it as a beautiful piece of art. A very gentle and beautiful depiction of Krishna (well I think it's Krishna): It's not a problem anymore But you know how there is that first impression thing..... Please don't take this the wrong way, but for some reason you annoyed me. Which was interesting, I have flashes of emotion like everyone but this was irrational I wondered why. I investigated, it wasn't the posts, or the frequency, or the topics. Then you posted the larger pic before and I liked that it but for some reason the avatar just "irked" me. But like I said I got over it. A good learning exercise for me.

Yeah, I use my real name too. As for people googling me, the likely response would be, 'Have you got nothing better to do with your time?' If that didn't do it, and most of the time the tone in the voice would, 'the stare' likely would. My practice is no secret. I tell anyone that asks. My students think its cool.
