Posted September 4, 2008 To name the most obvious: Pentegram Buddha Cross Celtic Cross Trinity symbol Most talismans, however, require a lot of prayer, cleansing and meditation before they become potent enough to use - at least, this is my understanding from the material I have been exposed to. Also, to give you an indication as to how much effort it can take to properly cleanse and activate a talisman, I saw a martial arts series where the presenter went to The Philippines and met a fighter who fasted and prayed with his talisman for 3 consecutive days. Only then did he deem it ready for wearing. Apparently if someone else touched it, he would consider it spoilt and pray with it for a whole day before deeming it ready once more. Buddhist philosophy aside, I would recommend a Ba Gua symbol of jade, which is very useful especially if you practice Taoist energetic practices. Visualizing the Ba Gua in your lower tantien and in your internal organs as well as ming men area, etc. is good stuff. I believe they are meant to be relics left by certain beings - apparently it's not just saints and buddhas who leave them behind... Was tempted to buy one at one point, but I think the one I wanted was about $400. Looks like they've updated their site too. Max has a very dazzling deep blue one, big enough to fill the palm of your hand. Covetable. I dont know about the power of it though. It would be interesting to get the chance to work with one. Their supposed effectiveness depends on a number of interconnected factors like faith, merit, karma, the strength of one's windhorse. A strong windhorse confers a high degree of natural protection so arguably most of the amulets aren't absolutely necessary except perhaps the Liberation by Wearing Ones for the time of death. Anyway believing that everyone could do with as much help as they can get, I've bought a few for myself, family and friends.
