the tao bums map

Recommended Posts

Was just checking out Aus and I'm slightly out of place, should have zoomed more.

And an ex member once "campaigned" that I'm evil because that what's "Mal" means. So it was amusing to see that his campaign extended to the TTB map

What did you do? Ban him for calling you evil? Hehehe.

(Sorry Mal, just couldn't resist. The devil made me do it.)

Yes, I do believe that "mal" in all Latin-based languages means "bad" or some variation.

almost, we eventually had to ban him, so he started calling me evil.

Just don't tell my Mum about the Latin meaning as she gave me my name :D

Me too. Is there a way to rectify this?

I can't believe there are only 4 bums in the Chicagoland (IL) area. Full Moon meditation at IMU is happening soon. Cool event.

How does one add themselves to the map?

Good question. In the it past it was clearly shown and easy. I wonder if google changed something?

Several appear to be on boats

Our more advanced members are like islands onto themselves and simply float above.

We have one member on the east coast of the Philippines...BLG. I hope they're doing okay after the typhoon. He doesn't look to be in a good place...let's remember him or her in our thoughts. I'll try to contact, but I'm not optimistic about getting through. Hopefully they've moved since the map was done.

He hasn't been active for a few years - but I did try sending him a PM - offered help from 'this side of the world' if he's caught up in it.

What do all those skulls stand for?

I was wondering about that too. I find it attractive in an eerie shamanic way.

IIRC the skull was just one of the icon you could pick but I just zoomed in on Aus and noticed one skull that is trying to be a curse

I also didn't zoom in enough when placing my icon so it seems he is floating on a man made lake, it seems the man is an island after-all :P

Hmmn, maybe we need a new map. I wonder if it could be owned by the Tao Bums inclusively instead of a random member (or Sean or a mod). If so we could start it on a new thread.

What'ya think?

In theory... http://www.wisebread.com/how-to-edit-google-maps but I'll bet it's old before they changed a lot of stuff..

However:

What happened to iGoogle?

iGoogle was retired on November 1, 2013. The mobile version was retired on July 31, 2012.

How did you come to this decision?
We originally launched iGoogle in 2005 before anyone could fully imagine the ways that today's web and mobile apps would put personalized, real-time information at your fingertips. With modern apps that run on platforms like Chrome and Android, the need for something like iGoogle has eroded over time.

What will happen to the data stored in my gadgets?
All of your personal data stored in other Google products will continue to be available via those products, including Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Finance, Google Drive, Google Bookmarks, and Google Tasks. This means you'll still be able to access your emails, documents and events. Instead of accessing your data through the gadget, you'll need to visit the product directly.

Most iGoogle gadgets are created and maintained by third-party developers. If you’d like to export your data, you should contact the gadget creator directly.

I really like iGoogle -- are there any other alternatives?

There are a number of desktop alternatives available. If you’re a fan of Google Chrome, the Chrome Web Store provides a similar range of options like productivity tools and applications to check the weather. In addition, just like iGoogle, you can personalize Chrome with a theme.

For mobile devices, Google Play offers applications ranging from games to news readers to home screen widgets.
