Ian Posted October 22, 2008 Well me and Yoda were both lamenting our failure to keep up with squats, so we've teamed up to try and make it happen. Nothing heavy, but just making it more likely to happen because we're both trying and might make more effort for each other than we would just for ourselves. Â So I thought it would be good to have a thread for this idea. If you have a practice you'd like to do and you're maybe just not quite motivated enough to make it happen on your own, then post here and see if anyone would like to join you. Then you can encourage each other and keep it going, and share notes. Â That's all.

shontonga Posted October 23, 2008 A friendly bet - not necessarily for money- might help you keep at it. Â Â Interested! Â 15 squats a day to start then up it 2 a week ? Is that it, or is there more to it I missed ? Â in a bit of need of discipline! Â might help! Â was thinking about adding low horse stance into my mix for 2 min at a time (if able to do 2 min.?) like squats better! Been lax for the past month or so on practices. needing to get back to some stuff. miss it but still seem reluctant? Current practice is mostly just a little form and sitting at night for awhile. Â Â Â ... lol, so what kinda bet you thinkin' there mYTHmAKER? Â Â Thanks kids!
mYTHmAKER Posted October 23, 2008 Â ... lol, so what kinda bet you thinkin' there mYTHmAKER? Â Â Thanks kids! Â Up to you guys. Me - I'm not bragging mind you - but I don't need incentive to practice. I'm like the energizer bunny - I just keep going. In fact I need to take a day off from time to time. Mal Posted October 27, 2008 Don't forget the second rule too  So what do we want?  Endless strings of numbers? "1, 2, 3, 4, missed a day, 1, 2, missed a day, 1 etc"  A daily post to signify compliance? "I'm a squatter ask me how"  Or (my favourite) a "signup sheet" then only post excuses.  "I've done 1904 days in a row but I missed today because my cat was sick" replies "Not good enough" "1st loser" "Is your cat ok?" "Drop and give me 20!"

Pranaman Posted November 3, 2008 (edited) If Pranaman doesn't get to Portland and train he's gonna kick his own ass! Â oh man, due to injury, i'm not going to be down there for a damn long time. i'm talkin like a month or two months. I've had an injury with the symptom of sciatic nerve pain when I take a step or move my leg. It's been like this for almost three months, and it's hold me back from progressing. I keep injuring it in class because of the different drills. Now I just do all the upper body strength training and standing. I doubt Sifu Fong would have a problem with the strategy. Â but it's wrong I tell you, it's wrong! this heavy feeling sucks! Â as far as discipline goes, pictures yourself being as good as your teacher thanks to the practice you do now.
