Some confusion is perhaps because politics and economics is mixed together in that sentence.

The part country being "for the people, by the people is about the USA being a democratic polity which is true.

 

The part The age of America is over is about economics. Are the American people ready and willing to spend less to recover? I'm not sure.

As long as you spend the money you have earned, that's fine.

 

But, the USA for a long time has been spending borrowed foreigners' money. Sooner or later, when you have accrued so much debt, you either dump you curency or default on a state debt. The examples of that are numerous.

 

If the USA is willing to not spend, then it might dodge the bullet of a default/dumping the currency. Not likely to happen though.

You are right, but this would be the quickest way to martial law. Just think, right before the inauguration they say he is ineligible, all the riots brake loose, and the Martial law is imposed on the whole country. The Constitution is suspended, and Bush&Co are still in power.

What happened was that a lot of people woke up.

 

Keep in mind that even during the Clinton years, wages never caught up to inflation.

Even though, as far as real wages are concerned, Clinton was far better than Reagan,

Pappy Bush, and Junior.

Also, during that time frame, H1-Bs and illegal immigration were used to keep wages

down.

Service jobs were also moved overseas from the United States. Manufacturing jobs have been dwindling

for decades.

 

Years and years ago, only a householder had to go to work in order to keep a household running.

Then again, other ethnic groups had been abused so that someone somewhere can have their

cake and eat it.

 

The situation NOW is where both adults out of a household have to work and it may be that

one or both have to have two jobs, JUST TO GET BY...that is IF a job is available.
