Anabhogya-Carya Posted December 9, 2008 Tons of these mass produced objects are for sale in the china town near my house. Made by underpaid workers in giant factories, imbued with the magic of the ages......apparently.
YMWong Posted December 9, 2008 Tons of these mass produced objects are for sale in the china town near my house. Made by underpaid workers in giant factories, imbued with the magic of the ages......apparently. Here is an authentic one A lot of the material presented by MTS do not belong to Daoism but more to chinese popular folklore. This is of course not to put down Mak's share of information, which I am sure many find informative and useful, and not either to give it an higher/lower status compare to actual Daoism. That's simply what it is. YM PS: the line of demarcation between 'popular culture/folklore' and 'daoism' is of course often blurred and many of the 'popular rivulets' have been included in Daoism throughout chinese history

YMWong Posted December 9, 2008 Really? You do not know that the stone guard is a Taoism Tool ? If it is a folk stuff, do you know WHERE it came from? Yes, Taoism. Well, I guess you don't mind telling us when and where it originated, which Daoist sect etc. ? Thanks YM
gendao Posted December 9, 2008 Mak_Tin_Si - Question: If I placed some miniature Terra Cotta soldiers in my garden as "guardians," similar to stone lions...would that be good fengshui since they are like guardians, or bad fengshui since they are funerary objects?
